Good morning everyone
My name is Doug and i am finishing up the repair of a 2006 cobalt SS 2.4L It was Tboned in the passenger quarter panel. we replaced the quarter panel and door, painted that side back to OEM color, cleaned it all out and am just waiting to replace the lower control arms and she'll be back on the road. This will be the daily driver as to keep the Miles off of my 2014 dodge charger AWD so it won't be heavily modified but come on.... can't keep anything stock am i right?

LOL atleast you're honest.
If i want to go fast i'll hop in the Hemi
I was thinking about just installing K&N drop in filter for the intake, replace all filters ( cabin air, fuel, air filter) do a tune up, and drive it for the winter to work any bugs out... speaking of Winter she needs new shoes.... any suggestions?

it's the 4th Gen hemi with the sport 2 controller package, in the spring it'll be getting a custom Tune from one of the speed shops around here. Only thing do to it so far is LED lighting. can't figure out how to attach images on here yet though.
plans for the charger are:
1. Tranzformer II
2. custom tune
3. mopar CAI and 180 thermostat (why mopar decided that these cars need to run so hot are beside me)
4. headers
5. supercharger
but these are probably only one step a year or something like that. Stuffs expensive!
as far as the cobalt i'm not quite sure yet. Like i said, i want to get it up and running and see how it does this Winter before i sink any money into it. from what i keep reading if you change out to a SRI it has a tendency to start throwing codes? not quite sure i want to go about custom tuning this car as well in order to run bolt ons.

yessir, to be specific i have an R/T AWD sport (the sport is a package that comes with a black grille, blacked out rims, and the sport 2 controller) 2014 was the last year they made AWD with the hemi so i think i'll be keeping this car, it's a lot of fun!
picked up new spark plugs and radiator support bushings yesterday from the dealership, once i have the cobalt put back together (i have to put on the front and rear bumpers and replace the lower control arms) i plan on running 2 or 3 tanks through it before i do my tune up, i'm almost certain it's been run with 87 octane fuel and i read the manual says it needs premium gas and it's been sitting for about 6 months so im sure it's hurting for some good gas and a good run down.

And bluelnf is right, don't waste that money, take into consideration the extra money it takes everyone you fill up, may only be a few dollars difference, but, add that up for throughout the year and you could have a couple hundred towards modding the charger.
is the 2.4L a sub par motor?
very true.... the manual for my charger says 89 preferred 87 acceptable, so i run 89. maybe i'll run 89 in both so i don't confuse myself at the pump LOL

The 2.4 is better than the other N/A cobalts power/looks but compared to LSJ and LNF there's a huge difference, completely different experience. There's even a huge difference between LSJ and LNF.
These cars can handle some power when done right, but boost is the answer. However, even with all the power we are still Fail Wheel Drive.
