New from Florida and building a goblin!

Hey guys, glad to be here. I've already seen some super helpful stuff on the forum and it's pretty cool to see so many people into cobalts. I'm currently building a kit car from dfkitcar that's called a goblin. I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with them since some of us have came here to talk and sell stuff off our donors. I've already gotten my donor stripped, which was a 2009 lnf with 68k on it! The car was well loved and taken care of up until the point it was sideswiped "I'm assuming". I could tell the previous owner really loved it as it was clean inside and out and had a few many mods to it. Well his hard work and love for this beautiful cobalt isnt going to waste! It's being reincarnated! But this time it will be about 1400lbs lighter!

You don't think that'll make the front end push in corners?

Square setups usually are more balanced. Being MR engine might make a difference though.

Being able to rotate the wheels could be huge in making consumables last.

The front end is already super light so every little bit of less rotating mass will help it. This is what was advised when I asked Adam at dfkit car. It's going to be fun figuring out what works tho lol

thnx ninja! I'm gonna make a thread on the build and update as much as possible. Right now the frame is being powdercoated and as soon as it's back I can start building it out while I wait for stage 2 and 3 to be shipped.

I wanna know how you will keep the front end down when that turbo hits max boost if you get traction. As light as that thing is in the front and all that torque it will be like driving an outlaw sprint car.

Ya! G85, I was unsure but hoping it did because I was bidding on it without knowing.

Spare parts are going to be even more expensive now

You lucked out! That should be even more of an advantage with the lighter car

Yea, I would love to grab a few totaled lnfs as parts for the future if I had the money. "Hopefully" one makes its way to the pull a part by my house so I can source some stuff.
