After lurking for the past week, finally decided to join. Picked up a 2008 ss/tc, in black. Currently in the Ann Arbor MI area and have only seen one other SS (red).

Bought from the original owner, 39k miles, smells brand new. zzp catless dp, k&n typhoon intake, muffler delete, eibach springs with a zzp tune. Already have learned alot about the car being on here.

But anyone in the SE MI area ever have get a noise violation for exhaust? I'm not really concerned but I have been told by alot of people the car is quite loud. I just got the car so I havent decided if I should put a muffler back. I like it and its not too loud for my taste. Quiet around town and loud when I want to be.

Also, this is my first manual transmission car. Just paranoid about what could happen to the transmission so any obvious tips could be nice. Had the car for a week and have really only stalled about 10 times. Really been focusing on not slipping the hell out of the clutch on takeoffs. Hardest time I am having is shifting smooth from 1st to 2nd, have gotten alot better however. Got in my buddies 2013 Cruze 6 speed and granted its quite slow compared to this car but it shifts so lightly compared to mine.

Sorry for the long post...thanks for the welcome!

Don't shift out of first until 3.5k or 4k. If you shift at 3.5k and work on timing your shift into 2nd gear it'll be right at 2k.

I shift every shift right at 3-3.2k and don't have any problems.

Yea the 6 spd cruze tranny feels smooth as butter compared to ours. I shift at around 2800 1st to 2nd. I think the smooth shifting comes from throttle control more so than clutch slippage. These cars have a very touchy gas pedal imo.

i agree with this. it can be a little annoying creeping in first if you have to.
