Just picked up an 09 SS TC last week. I had an 06 Redline – but some nice lady decided to turn left instead of yielding to oncoming traffic, i.e., my Redline. The accident was ruled her fault and insurance cut a check for the car. Not ideal, but I guess I got reasonably compensated. So the Redline (LSJ) is gone and I replaced it with a 09 SS TC (LNF).
The Redline was great but it had some mods that caused some problems. I removed a few of the mods and corrected all the issues caused by the prior owner. I have to say that the LSJ is a great little engine, especially with a ZZP stage 2. I had the car pretty much perfect … and then it was gone.
So in looking for a new car I learned from my experience with the Redline. I set out to find a car with no mods. Not that there is anything wrong with modifying a car … but 100% of the problems I had with the Redline could be traced back to user error in connection with doing mods incorrectly. The Redline had some issues with the engine randomly going into limp home mode and throwing a bunch of codes, blah blah blah … I fixed it all and it was all caused by user error.
I figured it was time to try out an LNF. I was looking for a low mileage car with no mods. This particular 09 has 45K miles and is really nice. It has the G85 option (as most do). Only thing of note is the three piece spoiler (D81 I believe) and no sunroof – which are OK with me. I’ll have to take a few more pictures. Not much to see, it looks exactly like a brand new car, inside and out. Everything is very tight and very clean. No modifications at all except for some tinting and some vent shades (car came from Alabama). The car also had a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires – not bad. The tinting may need to be removed when I take it for NJ inspection - otherwise I'm OK with it.
The rear brakes were still the factory originals. They were long gone as expected and well documented in these forums. I replaced the pads and rotors this past weekend and flushed out all the old brake fluid. So far I’m really enjoying the car. The FE5 suspension is really nice and smooth. Very minimal squeaks and rattles (almost none). The clutch feels really good and releases pretty low (which tells me it has plenty of meat on it). The turbo hits pretty hard. A bit more power than my LSJ (although the supercharger pulled a bit better a lower RPMs).

All in all, a great little car. Nothing to fix, nothing to do, just drive.

Here are a few pics. It was a bit dark in the parking garage at work. I'll have to wash the car and take some pics outside. I took a shot of the master cylinder after I did the power bleeding. I also took a shot of the rear brakes after I re-did them - the brake system is clean inside and out now. Someone had already cleaned the engine bay.

Only issue right now is the ignition switch. I just looked at the Carfax history:
09/14/2010 - 14,834
Ignition lock cylinder replaced
Priority Chevrolet
Chesapeake, VA
I called the local dealer they confirmed the car needs to come in and they put my name on the list. They will call me when the parts come in. I have to say, the ignition switch feels perfectly fine. I just have the key and the Fob on the key ring. I did not ask for a loaner car.
