New member, just recently picked up an 06 SS/SC so far I’ve put a zzp stage 2 kit with the 3.0 pulley, 60# injectors, NGK plugs, 1.0PCM, GM stage 2 belt, zzp 3in intake and soon doing the exhaust because whoever had it last straight piped it and sounds like ****. I’m in the Hampton roads area of VA. Looking to learn as much as I can from the guys who have been here a while. This is my first project and looking forward to the wild rides it will take me on! Any local clubs that might be in the area I’d love to be a part of.

cosmetics wise it looks like ass, but performance wise is runs really well. Only thing is I noticed after installing stage 2 kit that my STFT was running pretty rich around -16+ at idle but steady’s out once you get going

Not bad at all man. Engine bay looks good with the painted supercharger and painted valve cover. I would suggest getting option b kit, dual pass endplate kit and s3 heat exchanger. It will help keep your intercooler temps down and get you a few extra hp because of it. With those additional mods you can easily go down to a 2.9 pulley without any issues. Also what is done for exhaust i know you said straight piped. I would do zzp 2.5 inch catback exhaust with their resonator pipe. For the header either go mid length or shorty header. All these options you can get from zzp and i would stay away from the cheap ebay crap because they will have fitment issues trust me I found out the hard way with the very first exhaust i bought for my G5. It was a cheap Megan exhaust knock off. Ended up burning a hole in my bumper and droned soo bad it gave me headaches while driving. Eventually I smartened up and went with a high quality exhaust with zzp and never looked back.

Thanks man! I took a lot of time painting the blower and valve cover and It came out much better than I expected. As far as cooling goes I’ve already taken the first steps with that by getting the zzp high output pump and put it in today. I do plan on doing the option b and dual pass end plate in the future. Exhaust is stock manifold, stock downpipe, resonator and tailpipe no muffler. It drones terribly and is super raspy I also don’t have any of the trunk lining in because dude I bought it from ripped it all out. I did order the 2.5 in cat back from zzp just waiting for it to come in “btw those dudes are quick af with shipping” headers and downpipe are in the future whenever I get more time/money. Do you think I’ll be fine running the 3.0 pulley I have on there right now with stock manifold/downpipe?

Right now since its the winter you'll probably ok but once it gets warmer I would defintely get either the shorty header or atleast the 3inch to 2.5 downpipe because you will get KR badly once we get warmer weather. Also once you get all the other bolt ons I would look at getting retuned to get the most out of your mods.

Welcome. There's only a handful of us that regularly visit here anymore, but there's still a wealth of knowledge available.

Mine looks great from a distance, but is starting to have clearcoat issues like yours. The hood is where it seems to start for everyone.

She still looks good brotha. And I agree the OG guys like us and a few others are still on this site. I remember when I originally joined in 07 it was busy all the time on this forum. But at least for new people all the knowledge including trial and error of parts is done for them. I still go on the redline forums once in awhile as well. I was on clubg5 as well not sure if you remember that one or not lol. It was much smaller than the cobalt group so I think that one is completely dead lol.

Good looking car man, welcome!

Like others have said, only a handful of people browse here anymore, but those of us who do will happily point you in the right direction with any questions you come up with.
