Hey guys! I am obviously new here haha. I'm currently an owner of a 2003 supercharged Hyundai Tiburon. The past few months its been giving me problems and I'm sick of it. So I think I'll be selling it in the next few weeks to get an SS.
With that being said, I do have some near future mods for when I get one. I have a buddy @joejoe228 who will be helping me. I'd like to hear from you all and get some feedback on "starter" mod ideas.

I would like the 2009 turbo'd SS in the for sale threads haha. So I'm trying to get a hold of him and hopefully work out a deal. I still need to part out my tib and get it back to stock to sell it. So I'm crossing my fingers this works out.
And Mr. Bill, I know the feeling lol. Never thought I'd escape the Tiburon scene. In fact I probably wouldn't have had it didn't start acting up really bad for the past few months.

Well my tib can walk a slightly over stock ss. But with a little work the ss will definitely overtake the tib. It was just getting too expensive/hard to mod the tib with no aftermarket support. So this route will be much better in the long run I'm sure I'll love it.

Yeah I took a turbo swapped cobalt and a few stock/lightly modded turbo'd cobalts. The lightly modded ones were pretty even with me though. But after a few bolt ons and tune and they could walk on the tib. But you gotta take into account that it's only stage 0 pushing 5psi at peak. I was pretty happy with it. Really wanted to bump up to stage 2 at least but it was getting difficult with my recent move and other life events.

Im from the tiburon world too. I guess you could call it the old world to be exact. Was a member on the TeamSR.org forums, which then moved over to rdTiburon.com and finally because that conglomerate Hyundai forum where all hyundais were welcome. was sad when rdtiburon.com closed shop. I found that last hyundai site annoying as hell. no love for the 1998-2001 tiburons. All the new tib owners were high on their horses laughing at the older gen tiburons lol.
Went to a tiburon meet once where everyone had 03+ tiburons. Everyone looked at me like I was stupid and my car didnt belong.
I had a 2001 tibby with everything you could possibly do before opening the engine or getting a turbo kit from sharkracing. It was slowwww lol but equivalent to a 03 v6 tiburon in turms of speed and acceleration.
I knew a guy with an assassins supercharged (procharger?) 03 v6 tiburon. It had 310whp. So yes, a supercharged v6 tiburon is faster than a stock turbo cobalt. Get your heads out of your butt people . tuned turbo cobalt is faster and cheaper to make then a supercharged tibby. Your making the right choice, plenty of aftermarket at least waaaay more compared to the tiburon aftermarket. And a cobalt is real easy to work on. But dont be fooled, you will still get a lot of hate, not as much as civic owners but theres plently of hate out there on cobalts, as much as hyundai hate.

So true lol. Well I appreciate you commenting about this haha.
So guys, I found someone who just listed a 2009 SS with 91k miles with some bolt ons (down pipe, intake, intercooler, and tune). Says that it's only hitting like 15 psi? Isn't that stock psi?
With that being said, what would be a good price to offer? I'm trying not to exceed the 10-11k mark so I kinda want to low ball him at 8k and work up a little from there. I just looked at their site though and it seems all of their cars are WAY overpriced. They do trade ins and financing, too. So I'm crossing my fingers I can get a deal.

Damn this is embarrassing, I forgot about this thread. Still enjoying the car just put on a ZZP catless DP and TurboXS FL exhaust a month or so ago. It sounds pretty good. A little farty between 2-3k rpm but not bad. The wife will kill me but I'm already compiling a list of parts/desired mods... hahaha I'm doomed.

congrats, bro. I'm in Bryan/College Station and have an 05 SS/SC that currently requires some love. She's stock (and fairly quick compared to the college ricers) but ugly at the moment.
