Hey guys, new to the forum. Been browsing around for a while reading some stickies, so I decided to sign up. Currently on the market for an 06+ Cobalt SS/SC. Found a couple on kijiji that I am interested in. I am going to have a look at them this weekend.

Is there anything that I should look for on these cars that is a common problem?

Im looking at cars around the 100,000 KM to 140,000 KM range, is that going to be a problem in terms of reliability? (I'm coming from the 3800 platform which was virtually bulletproof and consistently see 300,000+kms)

Would the milage be too high to install a stage 2 kit?

Any suggestions/tips are appreciated, looking forward to being an owner of one of these cars.

 

Considering an 05 with 138,000 KMs. Are the 05's known for having any issues being that 2005 was the first year for the car?

 

considering the amount mileage it already has am pretty sure all recalls etc might have been taken care of. I know 05's are harder to tune when it comes to modding or something like that but am not sure. just check for leaks between gaskets in the oil pan, head & block if possible. check fluids etc

I live in Ontario Canada so its 138,000 kms ( about 85,000 miles) it was never winter driven. Im going to look at it this weekend so I'm just trying to get an idea of what to look for.
