New from NY
Hello, my name is Josh and since I have a 09 Cobalt SS (it's black like a lot of the other Cobalts), I figured I should join a forum for the CSS. I picked up my car last October and it has been a fun car so far, never had a car with torque steer before, I'm used to rwd cars, lol. I put in a zzp catted down pipe a few months ago, had to replace the clutch cable a few weeks after that (it was stuck in first and I snapped the cable but forcing it out, haha.) I want to either get a Trifecta tune or the zzp ecu reprogram and a k&n rai. I hate the learn down that GM put on this, some days the most boost I got out of it was 8-9 psi.
I also have a '90 Mustang GT, it has aftermarket heads, cam, and intake. It made 292 rwhp and 320 rwtq, nothing spectacular but with a good pair of tires (and driver!) it should run low to mid 12s in the quarter. Anyhow, enough of the long story, I'll be looking for some good threads!

Welcome Nice balt
Like that body style mustang love them with ls swaps
Even with learn down that 8-9 psi seems low are you sure the car is healthy boost leak maybee
Just for reference ive owned my balt 3 years now bone stock never seen less than 12 in any conditions
Also first gear is boost limited

Thanks guys! Yeah LS motors work really well, I couldn't bring myself to do that though. I wouldn't put a Ford engine in a Chevy either.
It was -30F that morning, and a few other mornings were -25F. I was like man, I wonder what my boost would be up to without the learn down. Other days in the fall it was boosting around 14-15 iirc. I did notice that the first gear boost was limited though, and probably for good reason.

Btw, I've seen your car on google from other posts on this website and it looks great! I like the blackout look.

I was looking into that, but I was doing some research before about whether you need to get a tune for it or not. It seems like it is a yes or no answer, some guys are fine with it, and others need to be tuned. But it I am getting it tuned anyhow, I will put it on.
