Sup everyone.

Just got my SS sedan last week. One owner, stock (reflashed with HP Tuner), LSD, and only 46k miles on it. Previously I've only owned Hondas (Acura TSX, 07 Civic si, 05 accord V6 6mt ect.) so this is a huge change (wtf the wheel selection that's available... ) lol. So far though it's been great and I don't see it going anywhere. Sucks that it will be snowing in a few weeks, so it will have to be stored. I've barely even gotten to drive it yet T.T

Cheers!

Welcome! That is my favorite color.

You can look into a hub redrill to switch to 5 x 114.3. Thats what I may do. Wheel selection is awful.

Thanks! Yeah I was reading about options and this seemed like the best way. I read that some are using adapters or wobble lugs, but that sounds scary to me LOL

No worries. Paid $8350, but it was a private sale not a dealer purchase

I know a lot of guys like to run spacers over on the jeep forums and from what i gather, every inch you extend, you double the stress on components. I run them on my jeep so I can have full turning radius with my wide tires, but my jeep is a POS so I dont care if it breaks.

Yeah on my civic si (mp62 supercharged, then tvs1320) I had to run 15mm spacers up front because I put 255 wide tires on and they were rubbing my coilovers without the spacers lol. I have a good machine shop near me, so this might be something I do once I put the car up for winter. Still trying to figure out what my goals are at the moment haha

Never used any adapters before though. Not sure if there's a difference in safety or not, but I'm paranoid since I like to hoon a little bit haha

Nice score! That is pretty much my definition of a perfect Cobalt. And considering the title is clean, you got an amazing deal.

I'm right over the border in PGH as well.

Yeah I definitely lucked out tbh. When I was looking I wasn't able to find any other lnf sedans for sale anywhere.

Only thing is that there's a slight clunking from the front end. I checked the lca bushings and they're fine, so next would be the intermediate shaft or strut mounts right? From what I've seen here it seems like this is a super common issue

Changed out the sway bar bushings and sway bar end links. Get moog end links and OEM sway bar bushings. Strut mounts too but start with the sway bar stuff.

Nice. It drives fine, but the clunking is irritating. I'll just add that to the list of things to do lmao. I wanted coilovers and rotated mounts anyway, so I'll just wait until I can do everything at once

Do you visually check or actually remove the arm? Sometimes they look fine, but the sleeve will be torn away from the rubber and seized to the bolt. Spherical CABs should be one of your first upgrades anyway.

I just visually checked it for now. The car has never been in snow as far as im aware. There's very minimal rust or anything under there. Once it's stored I'll have more time to check everything

Like double clutch said it is very common for that rear voided bushing to wear out and the rubber will even start to fall apart sometimes. A rear spherical bushing is a significant upgrade and most likely needs to be replaced anyway.
