New from SE Michigan

Hey just wanted to say hi, just bought an 08 balt ss about a week ago. First turbo car Ive ever owned. There are a few modifications I believe, a shitty air filter and an injen pipe of some sort. Im not sure if anything else has been done like gms1, wondering if I could get some help figuring it out, thanks.

Welcome to the forums!

Post pics of the engine bay, we'll at least be able to give you a basic idea. If it boost to 22-24psi it's tuned, idk what the gms1 boost level is though.

Allright, first thing is that plastic nipple for the pcv system is snapped off, so right now you have a vacuum leak.

On to to the better things. It obviously has the Injen hot side charge pipe, and I can see the 3bar GMS1 sensor on the manifold, so you at least have that. Get that vacuum leak fixed and you should be good to go for awhile.

Yea there's another Bosch sensor down at the bottom front of the engine as well. I threw a code for vacuum, lean cylinder bank one. It went away on its own, figured it might be related. Whoever had the car before me broke that off. I'd like to get a proper intake and a tune. Don't even know where to start.

I'm goong to assume that hole behind your MAF sensor is the issue, as it's sucking in un-metered air.

For intakes you have plenty of options. Check out some of the supporting vendors here on the website. I personally just have the stock airbox with a K&N drop in with a ZZP replacement air duct. Haven't noticed it hold back power for me on stock turbo.

As for tuning you have 2 options(won't mention the third). You can pick up HPT yourself, and have a reputable tuner on here(heard good things about KMO43) to remotely tune your car. Or, you can try and find somewhere that has a dyno and HPT to tune you. ZZP is fairly close to you in Wyoming, MI, and they do dyno tuning if that is the route you want to go.
