ask if it is tuned..........it has an intake obviously, has an aftermarket intercooler. which looks almost as tiny as the stock one O.o and wtf happened to the front grill! definitely need to take care of that, looks horrible without it. ask them if they know of any other mods, such as downpipe, exhaust too. and if everything works fine, replace nothing.........

Yea I noticed that wtf happened to it? I could custom fit something in there but I'd like it to natch the test if the vehicle. I haven't found an aftermarket radiator besides that supplemental. If it has been tuned what more can I ask or try to avoid or should do 1st?

how am i supposed to know!? O.o lol. and custom fit? just get a stock replacement for it....and radiator? no one said anything about a radiator. and they have one aftermarket one, not that you need it. and no you dont have to avoid it if its tuned, just make sure to look everything over and that it feels good on the test drive...

That poor SS.

Aftermarket Intercooler, which doesn't look centered...no grill. k&N intake. Ask if its tuned. check for oil leaks around the HPFP. If this was made early 09 ask if the motor has been replaced. some cars had porous blocks and this was remedied only with a new motor.

If it boosts past 15 psi its tuned. turn on the cruse control and do a pull to see if its trifecta. HP tuners just boosts that way all the time

im saying the piping was probably too short which shifted the intercooler over. tell them to turn that **** over back to stock man. its not a bad price for mileage but thats if the car was in perfect condition......this isnt perfect condition.

i mean if they replaced the intercooler and lower CP with the stock one, and installed a grill i would probably pay about that for it. but that intercooler looks baddddd.........you could find a better one with less mileage and same price im sure. look around on here, especially if distance is not an issue.

agreed. Tell them you will only pay that price if they order a new stock intercooler + lower CP and grille. if not. offer then 11500

The guy agrees to coming down in price and or ordering a new one. Thanks for the whats up.

Does the CP look bent in that pic of the engine bay?

I've never replaced an intercooler or CP. How much time and money would it take for a novice like me ? Is it difficult? I am assuming their is a how to link.

What about the IC pump? I should ask if it was replaced?

Intercooler pump is only on the supercharged cobalts.

It took me and a buddy around 6 hours to replace my intercooler. but we had snapped a bolt in the frame. so expect it to be fun. The hot side pipe looks normal.

that car looks used and abused, I wouldn't buy it. Ask if it has a salvage title, the front bumper is cut, and the headlights, and hood don't line up, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is salvage. ive seen turbo ss's out there for 12k stock. If I where you I would NOT buy this car. Go find one that's stock, and then go do your mods.

Thanks SalvageBait. I appreciate the honesty. I want a cobalt ss, it will just take a me a lil while to find the right one. I found one for 18k w/ ~35k miles in far north east tx but that too much for this car. $13k is the right price for me to finance an SS

There's a nice one for sale on Dallas Craigslist for about 12K. It's dark red and has some light mods.

I'd say 11,500ish for it.

Anyway, did anyone notice the weird thing in front of the PCM and to the left of the washer fluid cap? Wtf is that thing...

id still stay away from this car, looks like a hack job. intercooler and all charge piping took me only about 4hrs, and that was while i was just bullshitting and drinking beer lol. front bumper has to come off, headlight assembly, not hard if you actually know how to turn a ratchet. and as the other guy said, IC pumps are only on supercharged cobalts.

THIS CAR is 123904832094802 times better than that other one, it appears to be bone stock unless they have an exhaust on there. the stock wheels look 100 times better, interior looks nice, looks well maintained and its the same price. go with that one. not the hack job that is missing the front grill.
