My 2006 Cobalt SS Supercharged has an issue that i've tried to fix ! It is idling funny and as im driving my car will start to buck which can scare the **** out of you because it happens out of the blue ! now today it stalled as i was backing into my parking spot and i am now so frustrated i don't even want to drive it ! I've been told it was the Mass air flow sensor so i bought one and got it put in car ! Seemed to fix the bucking, i was relieved for a short time unfortunately after 1 month the car started acting up again so i took it to the garage where they replaced my Mass Air Flow sensor and explained my car is back to bucking again and the idle is acting up ! so they ran the machine on it to get a code and they said i needed a Map Sensor for the supercharger ! So i replaced that and hundreds later and my car is bucking again ! Very frustrated and praying somone can tell me if they had the same problem if they could explain to me what is going wrong with my car , feeling stressed
Please help if you can.......That is my yellow car in your pic lmao

Take it back to them. Explain that your issue wasnt fixed and you would like a refund for the parts they said would fix it but didnt.

They are simply trying to give me the run around they are saying they drive it but it is no longer bucking it must be me making it buck somehow they said ! I've had my car for 1 1/2 years and never did my car do this to me until April ! The Mass Air flow sensor code came up so it had to be changed and same ass the Map sensor but now im lost on what it could be i can't see them refunding me if the codes came up they had to be fixed right?
Women going into a garage is so difficult it's sickening ! It could possibly be another sensor maybe, and i've seen many people are having the same issue but i never noticed anyone reply with the fix ! I'm really trying to save myself from getting robbed from Brett's

Jusst because a code comes up for a sensor does not mean the sensor needs to be replaced. Go to the shop, and take them for a drive in your car while you are driving and show them exactly what happens. Dont let them **** with you, if you paid them to fix it and they didnt then they better be fixing it for free or taking off the parts that didnt fix it and refunding you.

frustrated :(

Wouldn't the code be coming up with the issue of all the bucking , like it scares the **** out of me when it jerks because my car can be driving beautiful then all of a sudden its bucking ! Plus they have driven the car and been in it when it was bucking so they know its not me ! Thinking they are confused and have no idea ughh

Something thats always a valid check would be to clean your throttle body. Google 'idle issue cure cobaltss'

Mine been doing that bucking thing and only does it when it's real hot and air conditioning is in and only at the start of 2nd gear. Is that what yours is doing to?

Welcome aboard. One simple thing to check that causes havoc with these motors is a good connection and seal with all components of your air intake. When pulling out of storage earlier this year it had a horrible surging idle and some white smoke coming out the back.

Upon inspection under the hood, on of the stock intake parts where two tubes connect with a hose clamp had come lose. To fix I completely undid the fasteners and reseated all the tubing ensuring everything was tight. Car went back to being perfect.

have they check fuel pressure?
I had an issue somewhat to this and in extreme cold (Buffalo NY) the car wouldnt start.
replaced the fuel pump to only have the same problem several weeks later...
ended up being the fuel pump relay... well actually the fuse box.
The relay wouldnt stay snug and would lose connection to the fuse box.
found out GM overnights the fuse box free of charge (which means they know it is a problem.)

start with fuel pressure.... then check fuel pump relay.... smack the fuse box a bit to see if fuel pressure drops after installing new relay. if the fuel pressure jumps.. you need a fuse box or a smart mechanic that will make your relay fit snug.

dont do what i did... by replacing the fuel pump.
Relay $15 vs fuse box $375+ vs fuel pump $400+

You could always clean your throttle body, that generally helps the lsjs out big time

If the MAF sensor you bought was an aftermarket one, they aren't as good as the factory one. It may not be reading properly at low airflow which can cause surging/bucking. Try shifting a little higher and see if it goes away, if so you may have a small air leak somewhere or a faulty sensor.

like the majority, clean the TB. Mine started to do that after a couple years of owning it, was a night and day difference and my TB was not even that dirty.

Here is the thread where they talk about cleaning the throttle body. I had the same issues when I had my LSJ and cleaning the throttle body fixed it right up.

A word of warning, be REALLY careful when cleaning the butterfly so that you do not mess up the throttle position sensor.

Routs idea of checking for air leaks is a good idea as well. An air leak will cause the same problems and they can be hard to find sometimes. Is it currently throwing any codes at all? A MAP sensor code at the supercharger can mean many things depending on the actual code that was thrown and rarely means that the sensor is actually bad. It normally points to an improper metering of air that is occurring somewhere between the MAF, The SC MAP and the intake MAP. The Throttle Body being extremely dirty or an air leak can cause the same code.

Same problem

I have a 07 s/c balt and it has the same problem codes are the bank one lean and I have like 6 different ones.. Ive cleaned my throttle body (it was black as my car) the maf and map have been replaced by previous owner. Ive replaced my plugs with iridiums and now the car only does it when its cold and as soon as it warms up it runs great. Ive done everything I can think of/search on here and its pissing me off.

Sorry for the paragraph but I haven't figured out how to start a thread yet as im still new..

Thanks in advance

If your window is going down abnormally slow it will be like that forever
