Okay, I figure it's cheaper to do nitrous than a zzp turbo kit or something similar. I plan to do a 75shot.

This should be *fairly* safe right? I've never used nitrous before.

Anyone know of any cheaper kits out there? Anyone else have experience with nitrous kits on turbo cobalts? I just want a pretty basic setup that works nothing super fancy.

A list of what's needed would be great. Thanks in advance guys.

NOS = horrible for your car.

They say everytime you use it its like putting 60,000 miles worth of strain on your engine.

 

trifecta has unlocked the gm stage 3 tune to have the nitrous algorithm and to have AC on. theres a thread on how the tune works and prices.

I love idiots who refer to nitrous as NOS!!!!!!!!!!!! Not knowing NOS stands for nitrous oxide systems. But yeah, OP I've heard that nitrous isn't the best idea for cobalt engines.

 

nitrous is fine. just don't be stupid about it.

like exsoccer said, nitrous is fine as long as you have it set up right, tuned right and spray it right. Theres a guy here in the city spraying 150 shot on his 2010 camero with just bolt ons and he is fine, one guy is spraying a 1000 shot in his funny car and never had issues related to nitrous.

 

^^^ srt10 those guys are also a ls series engine. U can throw a 200 shot and be safe.... A tune is required. Its more dangerous then Meth and is cheaper.... In some places...... Id go with a tune and more boost and Meth. A

I've also thought of meth and upper 20's boost. It's a tough decision given all the options a turbo upgrade (unless used) is out of budget.

With meth or nitrous I can lie and say it's a tune only car haha

 

Or just put a bigger turbo on and be done with it, and help your engine live.

 

If u run Nitrous u won't want to run more then 20-22... Ure egt will get to hot. By by piston and ect.

I'd only go higher boost with meth only nitrous.

I cannot remember what nitrous setup mike had but I believe he still has his setup and is wanting to get rid of it.

you know you can safely run 24 PSI on the stock turbo right?

That 4 PSI makes a big difference when properly tuned.

I would not run nitrous on this car lol.. It didn't last long on Oscar's car when we kept at it. Was fun while it lasted tho, Ill give it that lol..

 

Yeah( run zuh meth and more boost) And then build it and ect then throw some nitrous into the engine..!
