Question nos

Ive never used nos before so i have a question? I have a 2.2 is there any part of the engine i should replace with after market before puting in the nos so it doesnt hurt my engine so much. I dont plan on using it that often as is. But rather replace anything now then have my engine blow up.

There's really nothing that you can do, if you have fuel puddling, which is what happened with mine, you're going to blow. An aftermarket intake manifold won't really help, it'll just make the explosion stay more in your engine .

Only when a window switch fails screws up . Or you try doing the nitrous under 3k rpms...

the only thing you need to run nitrous on your 2.2 stock motor is 91+ octane and 2 step colder plugs.

keep it at a 75 shot and below and you are fine...

75 shot? i thought a 75 shot in any stock 4cyl is dangerous.

id keep it at 35 or a 50max.

The only "aftermarket" part you need is the nitrous kit. A reliable nitrous kit. General rule of thumb (or rule of wrist) never put more than half of your base horsepower into a shot. So 150 horsepower base no more than a 75 shot of nitrous. Stay on the [U]safer[U] side and don't go more than a 55. The only other advice I would give is use a wet shot. Wet shot meaning a kit that introduces fuel and nitrous. This prevent's running too lean, detonation and all that really bad juju that leads to really big booms, and really skinny wallets.

The fast and the furious put a really bad mark on what nitrous does. as it was said earlier 2.2+nitrous = bad.......................not reallllly. Nitrous+user error and **** poor judgement = bad

hey Mush, We've missed you at the Beach

I wanted to do nitrous too... but I got aftermarket rims instead. I probably will get it later down the road. just get all the safety stuff with the kit.

i've been running a 75 shot on my 2.2 for a while now with no problems. I'm pretty sure other members on here have been doing the same.

I fired up my ZEX wet for the first time today with a 55 shot just to get a feel for it. 3 hours later and I had switched the 55's out for the 75 shot. 75's more my style

these 2.2 motors can take a 75 shot all day...

they've seen plenty more abuse by GM and by other owners...

Um, I don't think we were talking about the 1000HP drag engine, so, um, OK, your right! But so what?

You need 2-step colder spark plugs.

Other than that no.

Ive been running 75-shot for over a year, have fun with it.

Sorry man, it's been hectic as hell. I opened the detail shop down here, plus I'm working as a mechanic for the shop right next door(I did jake's nitrous install(2FastforyouraSS)) and starting next week I will be doing vinyl graphics installations. So I haven't had much time. I actually was up that way last weekend at mt. trashmore for the big shine and show barbecue the vadriven.com boys sponsored. I'll be up there this weekend too on va beach blvd at the century 21 benefit show. You all should stop by. $5 To enter, all procedes benefit .....something.... they will have best in show 2nd and 3rd place trophies
