Too hot in the trunk?

Is it possible for it to get too hot in the trunk for the nitrous? During these 100+ days, should one take the bottle out of the trunk just to be safe or will it be ok? Wondering if the pressure will build up too much for the bottle.. Thanks.

I don't know what the safe temperature range for Nitrous is but trunks can get pretty hot. I am a bowler and there is two ways of getting oil out of a bowling ball, putting it in a 160* oven or sticking it in the trunk of your car on a hot summer day. So, I'd keep that in mind.

Remember this, when they build a tank like that there is a safety factor. I design pressurized storage tanks as a mechanical engineer. We use a safety factor of 2! That means if the tank is rated for say 2000psi, the tank can reallllly actually handle 4000 psi. The government/osha/asme does not **** with people having bombs in their cars.

yeah it should be fine but as stated before they make a blow down kit for the bottle so if it ever does reach to high of a pressure it'll blow of some of the pressure on its on.

correct. in fact, the bottles are designed so that if they get too hot, it'll blow off, sure it'll cause damage, but it won't like, blow the car to smithereens.

dont' always work. take the bottle out. bottle pressure affects your jetting. which affects your afr ratio.

if you purge it and its that warm it will cool it anyway i believe so the autopurge will be for safety and not a bomb so to speak an then when you wanna use it jus purge it a few times an check your pressure gauge an you should be good to go

Checked my pressure gauge. Right under 1200psi. Should be fine right now. Keeping the bottle closed and everything. I'm not going to spray until it either cools down outside or I bring the bottle inside for it to cool for a bit.

I think the pressure is regulated. So no matter what the pressure inside the bottle is, unless very low, you always have the same pressure into your intake.

actually when the bottle starts to get cold then the pressure drops and once you start gettin below 900psi then the shot wont be as strong as it should be.. kinda the reason they make bottle warmers to keep the pressure pretty consitant.

You should never actually use nitrous below or above 900-1000 psi.... too lean or too rich... aka why most people go boom (this is all a given to most but figured i'd put it out there)

as far as taking your bottle out... i would say yes... like everyone said you can get the auto vent for you bottle but to myself there is just no reason to keep it in there unless your at the track racing, granted i keep a "Mock" bottle in there but my family has 4 - 5 bottles in the garage at one time so there is always an empty for show....

The Zex Bottle i have handles upto 2500PSI. But the kit also comes with a metal hose that directs the nitrouse outside the car if the pressure gets to a certain point.

i have one of those. You have to have that if you race it on the track. Its called a Blow Off Valve. It releases it through a hose that leads outside the car when the pressure reaches beyond a certain point.
