*** MN balts *** April 09 CED meet info.
Official Midwest Sport Compact Meet: Chicago, IL - April 24-26, 2009
Ok guys...lets get a group together and convoy out. We did this last year and had a great time.
The trip from the Twin Cities is about 390 miles depending on where your coming from and if you were to drive straight through it's estimated to take about 6hr 20min... Now last year we all meet up at Hoffa's place the night before in Rochester and then woke up early Friday and headed out. We hooked up with the Wis guys at a few different locations to add to the size of the convey.
Things to note.
* We can share rooms to cut down on cost.
* We will not be speeding "Through Wis." like we did last year...It cost each driver $235.00
* Humor makes these trips more fun. We had a blow up sheep in my car last year...come up with something fun or funny to bring (blow up item, mask to where, something funny on your car, etc...)
* 2-way radios are a must for cruising in a group.
* more items to be added soon.
Address of CED location

1000 E Belvidere Rd
Grayslake, IL 60030
Hotel Info

Who is Crate Engine Depot (CED)?
CED is a css.net site vendors and also one of the top sellers of GM performance parts, GM crate engines and GM crate motors. The company is run through a Chevy dealer and looks just like a parts department at your local dealer, only a little bit bigger.

Leaving the Twin Cities:
-Meet at Perkins in Arden Hills, 6am for breakfast. (694/Lexington)
-Be on the road by 7am
-We can make bathroom and gas stops as needed. Leaving early means we wont have to rush.
-We'll be driving no more than 5 over the limit while in Wis.
-Everyone will be in radio contact with eachother the entire time so we'll be all good.
-If some brakes down, gets a flat, etc...please all pull over together and help solve/fix the problem.
During the meet weekend:
-Friday night will have a Dark Knight / Chicago cruise going on
-Saturday the meet at CED is 9am-5pm
-Saturday after the meet another car cruise will take place.
-Sunday everyone checks out and heads home.
These are just a few things that will be going on, feel free to do whatever.
Yes I plan on going list.

@#$@#$ crazy shenanigains. Last year we did a cruize that lost half the people on the hwy, hung out with some srt4 ppl and drank in the hotel lobby. The sheep got a bunch of beer bottles in its ass. Steet tuned some balts, washed cars, had a little car show in the lot...

I heard that Tom at CED was in talks with the GM Performance guys about possibly getting them to come out again, but with the performance division now disbanded I doubt anyone will be able to come

I doubt we'll be able to top last year...considering last year the GM Performance engineers guys who designed, tested and promote the Cobalt SS were there for the meet and also hung out at the hotel. Last year they brought a full trailer full of GM Performance cars...Even a couple Cobalt SS Turbos, which at the time were not even in production yet. They had a few test items on the car and wanted to get our feed back on car as well as these test items.
I heard that Tom at CED was in talks with the GM Performance guys about possibly getting them to come out again, but with the performance division now disbanded I doubt anyone will be able to come

I think it maybe fun to cruise through down town Chicago Friday before it gets to gdark...if were not to tired from the drive down. I know Saturday we'll be doing a cruise around the meet location but I have a desire to visit the down town area again too.
...Anyone interested in trying to find a few locations where the Dark Knight was filmed? ...I know P and I need to go down there and take some pics.
