Great Lakes Dragaway will be having free racing on opening weekend which is April 4th and 5th......Last year we had about 6 balts out there with a couple redlines......We need to have a bigger turnout this year!!! We can cook out or somethin that weekend...Any ideas post on this thread and put down if your gonna show so maybe we could set this up......This is for anyone who can make it..... I dont care where your from....last year was a lot of fun and the weather was great....

QUESTION: "I'm new to this sport, what do I need to bring with me so I can race my car?"


Answer: Long pants are a requirement. You also cannot race with "muscle shirts" or sleeveless shirts. T-Shirts are acceptable. You will need to bring a helmet if your car is capable of running 13.99 or faster. If you aren't sure, bring a helmet anyway. We also offer helmet rentals at the track, however we cannot guarantee that there will be any left when you arrive. You must be sure that your car has a "coolant catch can" which is basically an over-flow bottle that catches antifreeze/coolant should your car boil-over. Must cars come standard with a catch-can, however, older cars may not have one. Double check this before you drive to the track. You also need to be sure you are wearing long pants and no "sleeveless" type shirts allowed.

That's the only rule about helmets....not everyone unless they've ammended this and havent put it up on the site....but this is there right now....

it hasnt been updated, one of the guys who runs it posted on BCM.com and said all times need helmets.

I'm going to be there both days I already have off work for it.....Im guessing that most people would have sunday off.....so sunday for everyone to show up would be good...? Idk you guys tell me I'm already going to be there....

It's the exit HWY KR when your on I94...then just head west a couple of miles and you cant miss it...If you need better directions just let me know...I live like 15min from the track....come on guys keep spreading the word its a month from tomorrow!!!!!

i would probably go, I have never been to any kind of car meet before and it would be sweet to meet some of you and bs about cars. we should get a list together.

I will go when I can actually get down the track more than 3 times in 12 hours. Don't worry I will have a lot of seat time at the track this year.

Aw come on now that aint true.....I got there late the first day and still got 6 runs in.... and I got there before the gates opened sunday and got 3 runs in in the first 10 minutes I was there!!! You just cant show up late if you wanna race... thats all.......but I think even if you dont race guys you should still show up to hang out.......
