Front plates in WI

I'm thinking about taking mine off. Has anyone had any serious problems with the law without wearing the front plates?

You could just keep the plate under ure passenger seat, when u see the cop is pulling u over throw it on your dash by the windshield.. I duno if that actually works.... I would take mine off but iv already gotten a ticket for exhaust (GMPP sport so its not really that loud) and my windows 20%... I just tinted the tail lights so I dont really wanna give a another reason to pull me over..

I don't know how people are when they have to deal with that, the cops around here are somewhat okay about it, really bad in some areas. I know that most of wisconsin requires you have your plate permanently mounted to the front of your car and visible.

Its illegal to have it mounted anywhere but the front bumper. Having it in the window will still get you pulled over, it becomes a flying object in the event of an accident. Ive had that argument already with the cops.

PS: i dont want my throat slit in a fender bender by a flying license plate... again good thinking.

Just don't drive thru Brookfield. They have a boner for pulling people over with no front plate. Been pulled over 3 times for it and handed a fix-it ticket.

The only cops you really need to be worried about is the State Patrol. This will be the 4th year that I have had my car and I have been pulled over 3 times for no front plate and 2 of those were State Patrol.

I live in Minnesota where we need to have a front plate as well. I bought my cobalt from Florida in August and bought the bracket for the plate and keep it in my trunk. In case I get pulled over for it, then I will tell the cop that I just bought it and plan to put it on in the next couple days. It doesn't have any drill holes in the front and I kinda want to keep it that way. But I keep the plate in the front window and have been pulled over twice and the cop has never brought it up.
