MN - BIR Track Day!!! (2010)
No more thinking about it...it's time for everyone to step up!
Cost for events @ BIR is $235.
DATES - lets pick one, pay up soon and prepare for madness.
* Monday, August 23rd @ BIR
* Saturday, September 25th @ MAM
* Sunday, September 26th @ MAM
More info here \/ ...how to sign up, pay, etc..
http://www.tracktimemotorsports.net/trackday.html
WTF is a track at at BIR?
These are non-competitive driving schools/track days and are a great way to improve your driving skills and meet a lot of great people. We will be with the BIR Driving School for our events up at BIR. We will have a full safety crew, corner workers & great instruction if you are a beginner or just want some help getting around the track faster.
Important Note for July & August BIR events:
There is a large group that will be taking MANY hotel rooms from July through September. As I understand it, they will be working at Camp Ripley. At any rate, I was encouraged to have everyone make their hotel reservations immediately for the July & August dates. Hotel info is in the Track Day FAQ on our website.
Schedule
For events with run groups, the day's schedule will consist of alternating sessions (beginners/experienced) throughout the morning and the afternoon may be an open track format depending on how the day is going. Final schedule to be announced at the driver's meeting. Please plan on being at the track by 7:00 - 7:30 am with the driver's meeting starting at 8:00 am.

So we each pay $235 for the event plus all of the gas we burn up? Damn... that's crazy. I stick have to talk about BIR with my mom because I know her cousin's sister is now co-owner of BIR so I might be able to strike a deal where we all don't have to pay up the ass...

No no...That guy was saying you can end up spending more money (out of pocket) on on gas than for the fee to drive on the track. It was a post after someone said the fee was to high, he followed up with that.

For those of you thinking $235 is to much...look at the price of other BIR track days....$350-$450 Some of those are a multi day events but they'll also set you back more.
You interested in going?

Well, if you must know, I was unemployed for almost 9 months and unemployment didn't cover all of the bills that I had, so instead of selling the Balt, I kept it (mainly cause I couldn't ever get what I owed on it) so I quickly burned through all of the cash that I had saved up over the years and started racking up both of my credit cards.
Now that I have a job, I am trying to get all of the debt paid off that I built up and right now, because my balances are so high, my interest is raping me. Right now, I'm trying to get a loan through another bank to roll both of my payments into one so interest doesn't keep raping me and if that happens, I'll be back to having a little bit of spending money... and that is when I can get the stage kit for me car.
Unfortunately, being unemployed fucked me over in more ways than one...
