well i might be replacing a valve train on my car not sure if the massive tick is coming from the valve train or a spun bearing... really dont know what to do yet... i pulled the oil cap and im not getting an excessive pressure out of it so im going to assume its not a piston related issue but i wont be able to tell untill i do a compression test. To say im pissed is an understatement. I was literally driving like a grandpa and I started to hear the the tick...

 

So... i'm in Hartford right now... anyone close??

some years timing chain tensioners are known to fail. Check into that. that may be all your issue. otherwise i have an extra head you can pull what ever you need off of.

 

thanks for the offer... im still not sure when ill get the chance to eve tear into it... im thinking tuesday morning early before i have work at 2... its coming for that side and it sounds timing chain related... hopefully its just that... im already pricing out what it will take to do a nasty na build if need be. im just a little pissed right now because i was looking to trade my car in for a new wrx... next month.

Yeah, it had black stripes on it. Pretty area down there though, wish I coulda gave the curves some heat though. I was warned not to speed much, and traffic was pretty busy.

 

Cops aren't all that bad around here. Not too much you can do about traffic though.

 

Thats good to know. I flew past a WI state boy on my way home, and he pulled out behind me, followed me about 5 miles, then I think he pulled someone over who was going slow, LOL.

We will see... it sounds like the engine dropped a valve today and or spun a bearing. They are going to look into it. If its something easy ill do it after they figure out what's wrong. I'm thinking about rolling the car over to carmax across the road to carmax and have them find me a wrx. I'm really dissapointed seeing how everything on the car has been maintained very well. The car is fing stock aside from an exhaust and intake.

 

Wow! Thats shitty!!! How does Carmax work? I am looking to sell my LNF balt, since I just lost my job, do they buy cars if you are not intending to buy from them? I am just looking to pay off the loan, and get out of the payments before I get upside down in my bank account and end up behind on bills and ****.

Yeah, I just looked that up. Might have to take it there for an appraisal. They prolly won't give me what its worth. Best offer I had from a dealer was $11,500... which for an LNF balt is ridiculously low. Lol.

Kbb says my car is worth exactly what I owe on it. 3700 with the engine issue... idk what it would be worth to the dealer I'm sure they will bag tag me on that. I'm pissed... I was planning on trading the car in this next month.
