***OFFICAL*** NYIRP 2009 Test 'n Tune

This thread is going to be updated every week with some updates of times, interesting stories and hopefully who will be attending the next event. We'll see how this works out.

GATES OPEN: 5:30 pm
Time Trial & Test from 6 pm to 10 pm*!!
*Test till 11 pm if over 100 vehicles

FRIDAY TEST & TUNE INFO
DESIGNATED LANE FOR: Full Tree, Pro Tree and Street Tired Cars!
The Track is all yours!
Fuel & Ambulance on grounds!
(Fuel Available from 5:30 - 8:00 PM)
Concessions Open!
Track Scraped & Sprayed!
$13 Race or Watch

Sat April 18 OPENING DAY!! SPRING WARM-UP!! Test & Tune and Swap Meet 11-5 $13 Race/Watch/Swap

VeNoM0713 did good for his first time at the track. Track prep was less then par according to jbenso4.

Sun April 19 TEST & TUNE and optional BOX & NO-BOX GAMBLER'S RACE!!

No one went.

Fri April 24 Test & Tune & Time Trials

Surprise, surprise, a lot of people failed to show up. Chris needs to learn how to drive. Anthony didn't really do anything to impressive but will be getting his MAP clamp in now. Andrew needs to ditch the ricer crap.

The big news of the night though, Derek, went 14.9!!!! He is the fastest N/A 2.2 according to the 1/4 mile list. Congrats dude!

Fri May 8 Test & Tune & Time Trials

Matt makes what he says will be his last time at the track with the Cobalt. He managed a 14.9 I believe. Derek runs full weight today, but did not make a new best. I think he decided he needs a new clutch, LOL. Chris finally got a better launch. The 2.0 60' gave him a 14.3 1/4 mile time, which by far his best, with still room for improvement. The track officials were being dicks and saying that the Cobalt's were leaking green antifreeze all over the track. o_O I managed a best of a 14.727 @ 95.27 mph with a 2.270 60'. Not bad for a completely stock, full weight auto tragic.

Not worth attending.

Fri June 5 Test & Tune & Time Trials

Holy crap what a good night it was! Derek was nice enough to let me run his car once. I ran a modest 15.2. Not bad for a car I don't know.

Well Derek set out to achieve the 2.2 record back. First pass was a 15.07. Not bad. It was followed by a 14.90!!! He had done it! Then he amazed us all by running a 14.88. You think that's it? Nope. He followed that up with a 14.82!! Now you're thinking, a 2.2 can't go any faster. Well he made one of his last passes really count with a freaking 14.78!!!!!

So does anyone think Chris could do better? He started off about where he always did running 14.6's +/- .2 seconds. Then he managed a 14.29! That was a new fastest. It only gets better though. He then manages a 14.1x. His 60' was still a 2.0x though. Well he makes a few passes then some how pulls off a 1.9x 60' which nets him a time of 13.99!!!!

Godo job guys!

Fri June 12 Test & Tune & Time Trials

Bad news first. Dmoney8187 needs a clutch bad. After 79,000 miles and 75+ 6000 RPM launches, his clutch is finally done. The best he managed was 14.9 with a 2.2 60'.

Chris managed a 2.1 60' on street tires!!! Good job Chris. This resulted in a 14.5.

The big news of the night is Matt. He brings back home the fastest N/A title to WNY. He only got in three passes before the track closed. First pass on DR's ever, he ran a 14.74. That was could enough to beat his old record. Second pass he bogged and ran a 14.75. 3rd pass he really made it count. He got a 2.0 60' and busted out a 14.53. That was could enough for the fastest N/A Cobalt title to come back to WNY.

May think about coming the 18th, though opening day is terrible for traction. Never ran there personally but been there to watch a few times. Very laid back facility and affordable. I'll see if my roomate from college is goin, his father is the owner of the track.

It was last year the new owners were "learning the ropes". Apparently something happened and they don't want it anymore. So, Metcalfe is still the owner, though it is for sale. This info is good as of 3 weeks ago at least.

I think Matt(redssna) might be going but I know he's not 100% yet. If Matt goes then Chris, Dan and myself will prbably be there.
