Do your self a favor and go get a 5qt jug of Mobil 1 at Walmart for $20 assuming you have a LNF/LSJ.

Whatever shop you take it to will mark up the **** out of it and your oil change will be well over $100. The filter probably won't be too bad through the shop. Maybe 15$ after mark up. Even though it costs them $3

As far as where to bring it, any chain shop can change oil.

On a seperate note I passed the same sunburst LSJ twice on Route 9 in Clifton Park yesterday. Lowered, blacked out. Really nice looking car, anyone on here? CSS is a rare sighting around these parts.

Make sure they know it's the lnf turbo ss (5Qts) if taking it to someone, so they don't confuse in with an lsj and over oil it. It sounds stupid but it has happened on here before.

Are shops open to you bringing your own oil? I'm at delta sonic looking at their oil change station. They charge 70 for mobile one oil change. I just don't want a 10/hr kid out of hs doing it and screwing something else up

Yes you can bring your own parts to most shops. And pretty much 90% of chain quick lube places are $10/hr kids fresh out of high school.

I personally like independent shops but am biased cause I work at one.

I would just throw some warm clothes on and do it in your driveway or wherever your car it sitting atm. 20mins at most and your done.

Do it yourself if at all possible, save a bunch of cash, and would be a good learning experience. I'm sure we have a how to guide on here, but its super simple.

Ugh. I think I'll have to go that route then. Not really an engine savy dude. Heard about an Eco tech tool for the oil filter. The only how to I see on here is for the lsj. I know we need 5qts and not 6.5qts. Just have to find a jackstand and if I need other tools besides the 15mm? For the oil pan. Really wish I lived south, this weather is for the birds. Hey anyone here want to do it for me? I'll buy the supplies and toss ya a 30 pack lol

They make a 32mm shallow socket to get the filter cap off real easy im sure you can find one at a auto-zone or what ever. https://www.google.com/search?q=ecot...a&channel=fflb

Look up cobalt oil change on YouTube. There all the same. Our filter is under the charge pipe.

32mm and a couple of extensions and that 15mm for the oil pan and that's it really. Like they said, 20 mins tops. You'll spend more time waiting for the oil to drain than any other part of the process.

How are you getting a oil catch bucket under your car without lifting it lol? Use the car jack that came with your lady's vehicle and buy a mini jack stand for $20 they are like 8" tall you could keep it under your bed or in your trunk.

Hahaha had her since she was brand new. Gota prep for the future. Not having kid or anything yet, but she was paid off with only 54k miles on it and someone wanted it, so I let her go. Money is going towards a house next year. If I can find a turbo sedan, I might look back at them

good idea putting towards a house. Atleast the sedans are some what more family friendly for the future lol. Couldn't imagine putting a baby seat in the back of a coupe. Good luck on the search.
