Exclamation 16th Annual Cruisin' OC May 18-21

Cruisin 2006, May 18-21

Link For Event

The 16th Annual Cruisin Ocean City 2006 presented by Allstate will be the largest and most successful in the city-wide event’s history, with 3,000 Hot Rods, Street Machines, Custom Cars, Classics, and Trick Trucks on display throughout the entire 4 days. Ocean City’s Beachside Inlet Parking and Boardwalk and the Ocean City Convention Center are the main event venues. Up to 100,000 spectators have attended previous Cruisin’ Ocean City events, filling a five square mile area to capacity along the Maryland peninsula. Event participants and spectators also enjoy visiting Ocean City’s Beachside Inlet family amusement park and fun zone, plenty of shopping, fine dining in local restaurants, and miles of clean uncrowded beaches.

The 2006 edition of Cruisin Ocean City is proud to announce that ALLSTATE INSURANCE COMPANY will cruise on in as the presenting sponsor of this year’s event with some exciting activities that are sure to please just about everyone. With Allstate on board as the presenting sponsor along with several national support sponsors including Advance Auto Parts, ATI Performance Products, Barry Grant, Flaming River Industries, Flowmaster Mufflers, Goodmark Industries, Goodyear, JEG’s, Maryland Lottery, Meguiar’s, Miller Electric, Street Beasts and more on the way, it’s sure to be the best year yet.

This year’s Cruisin event will have a lot of the same attractions and activities that everyone seems to really enjoy including the Boardwalk Parades, lots of special car shows taking place each day at various locations throughout town plus some of the features that are in the works include the start of the brand new Street Rodder Magazine Road Tour, a legendary appearance by the King of Kustomizers, Hollywood’s George Barris, who has built some of the greatest TV and movie cars of all times including the Batmobile, Knight Rider, Munster Koach, Grease Lightnin, General Lee and the list goes on and on. Other guest include Chuck Vranas for a special book signing as the top photographer of “Great American Hot Rods”. Also being worked on is a Happy Days Reunion with two great stars from that show, Anson Williams “Potsie Weber” and Donny Most “Ralph Malph”. There will also be a Cruisin Saturday Night Rock’n Rhythm Doo Wop Concert in the Ballroom (see Concert web page).

Once again this year, because of the limited number of parking spaces available, we will have to limit the amount of registered participant cars to no more than 3,000. So be sure to be part of the most fun you can have in your hot rod at the beach, download an application and mail it in early.

STREET RODDER MAGAZINE ROAD TOUR
If you’ve ever had the desire to be part of the Street Rodder Magazine Road Tour well your time has arrived. Jerry Dixey with Street Rodder will be leading this year’s road tour in an Outlaw-bodied 1934 Chevy Coupe being assembled by Boyd Coddington and his crew at Hot Rods by Boyd. Everyone is invited to come along for the ride as the 2006 Street Rodder/PPG Road Tour Season kicks off during Cruisin Ocean City May 18-19-20-21 and begins its journey on Sunday May 21 enroute to the NSRA Mid America Nationals in Springfield Missouri. Get all the details in Street Rodder Magazine, on the website at www.streetrodderweb.com or call 1-800-664-1362. Jerry Dixey and the Street Rodder crew hope to see you at Cruisin Ocean City as they hit the road with their all new and exciting summer fun road tour.

Most everyone just cruises around, looks at the other cars, race, burnout, w/e you feel like doing, not to mention the boardwalk and beach and everything. Hoping to get this out early enough. Anyone else plan on going?
