I've lurked this site for a while, but I figured it was finally time to join up.
rock on, another LNF!

i have a red HHR SS that sometimes makes it's way into the Wilmington area, but for the most part it sits in the driveway.

you'll like the downpipe, like dcrep said, it really opens things up. so you'll be able to get a more agressive tune and your exhaust will be a lot louder at WOT.

I'm definitely looking forward to getting the downpipe on and tuned. I've been driving with my current setup for a little while now so it'll be nice to have a new feel and sound to the car.

I've seen the Black SS/TC with the blue wheels once on Kirkwood highway, but I couldn't get close enough. I always try and get near every SS I see if I can just to say what's up because they are pretty rare around here at least from what I've seen.

i've actually been seeing more and more SS Cobalts in my travels thru Delaware...... and it's because the resale value isn't all that great so a lot more "kids" are scooping them up. i'm just hoping they don't get ruined.

if this thread can get pretty active again i'll definitely get back into setting up Cobalt meets. right now i set up a "northern delaware" car meet that happens every other thursday night at various restaurants along route 40.

My work schedule may make it tough depending on the time, but I'd like to show up to at least one of the Thursday meets if possible. I work right off of 896 and 40 so I'm down that way a lot.

i've been seeing a ton of LSJ's actually, it's probably a 5:1 (LSJ to LNF) ratio. i travel from Newark to Smyrna and back every day.

yesterday was my wife's bday so i was definitely going to spend time with her

and today is my mom's bday, so i'll be heading to southern Delaware this afternoon. if you're not doing anything Sunday hit me up, as far as i know i don't have any plans.

Thanks. I don't have a Facebook so I'll just keep a look out for the info here.

Also, just as a general question to everyone, where do you go to get your mods done? So far I've done everything I have myself, but its all relatively uninvolved stuff. It'd be nice to have a reliable local shop to go to if need be.

in all honesty..... there isn't a real "performance shop" in Delaware i'd trust.

what type of mods are you talking about?

Just as an example, an intercooler is not something I'd be thrilled about doing myself if I should ever upgrade that. It seems like the install itself wouldn't be bad at all, but I'm not a fan of removing body panels. And then any transmission related stuff (clutch, flywheel, etc.). It was actually more of a general question. I don't really have any plans for that type of stuff in the too near future.

Thanks. I really appreciate that. I will be sure to hit you up if I run into any trouble with anything. I love working on cars too and it is definitely more rewarding to do the work myself, but I'm pretty terrible at it so that kind of gets in the way.

ahhh ok, well intercoolers are super easy. i used to have a Cobalt so i know exactly how to take the front bumper off nicely to make the installation much easier.

as for transmission related stuff, you could take it to almost any reputable transmission shop and it'll be done properly.

Intercooler was easy. Intakes easy. Charge piping is easy. BPV is easy. Downpipe, go see Matt, he does it for soda.

what he said^^ except the downpipe part, id rather do that over all else lol. i think the downpipe is the easiest of them all. intercooler just sucks cuz u have to take the bumper off, time consuming but not hard. swapping the turbo? well yea, screw you all cuz i will NEVER help anyone do that on a cobalt haha.

out of all the bolt-on parts for the SS/TC... the intercooler is probably the toughest and that's ONLY because removing the front bumper would make installing it so much easier.

but anyways..... what do you gents feel about a dyno or track day toward the end of August?

My company decided it was a good idea to cut a week of pay off our pay schedules to save themselves money. That puts me in an ugly spot where im stuck not paying my mortgage for 3 weeks. Mortgage check is the one they cut.

Now they gave me an option to take a loan from them since I live paycheck to paycheck. They will loan me a weeks pay. Well.... I can see the weeks pay in the electronic paycheck system but its been taxed like its a bonus, half of it is missing. So really They helped me out by loaning me a 1/4 of my usual two week pay. The best part? I get to pay them back in 6 easy installments/ deductions over the next 3 months. Im paying them back for the money I loaned to pay the taxes too

What a joke...

Bottomline, I have no available money to do anything that cost both gas, and well... money. My activities must always be free. I play volleyball at work on wednesdays evenings, we have 3 volleyball courts and we do summer tourneys.

I brew beer. and then I drink beer. True it cost money to brew beer but I have some ingredients lying around from the good old days before my company started poking its thumb in my butt.

My wife got all 10s on her reviews this year and they then told her no raises this year The hospitals are worried about Obama care.

I got some good news from my boss about my review . I mentioned to him over a year ago about my pay being about 10% below the "TMR" - a range at which the job I do, pays. He told me yesterday that he hadnt forgotten and in fact there were several others that had similar complaints. They are going to get me in my TMR this year Thats at a minimum an extra 4k$ a year added in. I will be really surprised if he brings me to the middle of the TMR, that would be 12k$ added in!!!!!

Then on top of that he said he was putting me in for a promotion for an exempt position. No more overtime BUT I will be officially labeled as a Biochemist and the pay for that is hella-hi compared to what I get now P.S.- I got my wife prego'd so this is all falling into place perfectly

crummy SUV is my future. Mot sure what to get. Really wanted a SRT8 jeep but I could easily go for a TB SS

But the gas mileage side of me says get a crappy ford escape or something similar.

Its only been like 4 weeks since she's taken like 5 tests. I work at a lab I know what rising levels of HCG means. lol. Scary but not too bad really. More scary for her lol. Oh and its not an accident it was a on-purpose. Trying to figure out a great way to tell the parents. Something funny. We are going on a trip to Tenessee to the smokey mountains (pretty much the parents expense) to stay at a cabin. I was thinking I would tell a ghost story and when I get to the punch line part of the story, I just say we're pregnant.

"and as the child opened the bloody box from which the scream came.... RIGHT THERE, we're pregnant."
