Bergen County Cobalts Wanted
yea man ill bring my POS fuji a430 camera lol and well get some good blurry shots. Im actually bringing my Sony Camcorder too to get some nice rolling shots and vids. IM actually excited lol even though im not getting anything. except maybe some gas money
Well I don't even own a camrea anymore so you > me.
I'm sitting here debating weather or not I wan Matt to give me a tune! lol
I talked to him yesterday and he was telling me The SRT's are so simple to tune, you just stick a Diablo sport up to them and he's done in like 5 min.
Over 300hp crank.
Prob like 250w on his dyno! hahahaha
I really wanna see what she puts down stock on Matt's dyno.
AND THEN.....
All our black ass cars need to get some pics together.
I think theres 3 Black Cobalt TC's.... 1 black HHR SS..... 1 SRT8.... and 1 black Cobalt ls. If configured right, could be a really sick Pic.
DUDE....If you're going to dyno tune the car, get the CMR tune. You still need to buy a diablosport predator in order to install the tune, but don't waste your time dyno tuning using just a diablosport predator. It's a waste
Lol that was funny.

I think I'm gunna have to get the Mopar Stage 1 PCM 1st. I'm not sure if it needs to be put in in order to not reduce the boost. I'm finding out today.
You do realize, the predators come with tunes already in them.......I wouldn't waste your money for 5-10hp...unless you plan on upping the boost, then there is no need for someone to install that tune for you haha unless you're really REALLY stupid............
see how many miles you put on it before the 11th, is this thing BRAND new or does it have a couple hundred on the clock?? if so on the way back we gotta make sure to fluxuate those RPMS!! (maybe do a 40 roll??). I did my tune at about 1500miles and i think its okay. I bought my car about 2 miles from tune time lol and i took the parkway home in and used all the gears, it was a good engine break in especially going through the oranges. i felt like i was on the Harvard rowing team
And you think a little beating on it should be ok? I didn't beat on the Cobalt till around 800miles on it or so.
I don't know much about these 2.4's and there Trans's.... I know they take a Ton of HP on the stock internals, but what kinda break in's are there for turbo cars?
How ever you need the Mopar Stage 1 kit inorder to put that tune in. Stock I think the PCM limits the car to like 12lbs of boot. With the REAL TUNE it goes up to like 21lbs

well the company "Real Tune" offers a Canned tune which can be dyno tuned in at a Dyno shop. I figured worst case I could always just have Matt check out that tune and my AFR when i put that in.

My best advice, since you're driving a gazillion miles back home...VARY your rpms. Don't stay at a certain rpm for too long. Believe it or not, full acceleration helps "aid in the break in process" according to my jeep manual. However, don't take it to redline...maybe like 4000-4500 rpm at most.
Read the manual before you drive away haha..they may tell you exactly what to do.

I personally drove my rig back home like a little b*tch...I read my owners manual that night....went back out the next day and was beatin on it...I didn't do any top speed pulls or launches but I did quick 1 gear pulls...the first time I pinned my truck, the gas pedal felt COMPLETELY different after. The gas pedal was a hell of a lot smoother and there were no discrepancies in it.
Oh by the way I raced a skittle with BIG front mount, tbe, cai, and wastegate from a roll from like 25mph to about 100 and he was only ahead by 2 car lenghts....I'm pretty pleased...I was in 2nd gear though...if I had it in first it may have been closer since I was sitting at like 2500 rpms when I nailed it

And I may be in the Mopar Family now, but I still don't like the NSRT's..... blah!
best recommended break in is to fluxuate the RPMs but not go over 5000rpm, it takes about 20 miles for the rings to seat, so that is probably done already. My dad use to rebuild SBCs for a bunch of years and said best break in is to drive it how you will normally. If the trip is smooth with no traffic make sure to go from 4th to 5th, 5th to 4th, 4th to 5th. Ill explain on ride up there. Break in is easy but a bitch because you wanna just jump on it lol. I know i did
I just called the dealer and they were like....
"Oh Mr Russo.... We had a problem up here the other day and some how we didn't place your DMV info untill yesterday. So you probably wont be able to pick the car up for a few more days...."
I'm like WTF! I have to drive 170+ miles, and you guyts are gunna scew with my plans now? And there just like sorry, we thought the form was sent in but it wasnt. So the probability of them getting my plates by this Sat are slim to none!
Might have to doit Next sat now....? Or if you can one day during the week. I could take a day off work to get it.
