Trooper will be in court you can bet on it, they always show up, they're going to defend every ticket they issue. Sounds like it's in the equipment failure classification. See if you can rectify it and show the DMV proof in a 10-day window or something. Like if you get a ticket for not having your license on you, you just go to DMV with your license, and it's removed. See if this qualifies.
