Calling all Cobalts on L.I.
#2231
still dead, going out there in a few to see what the hell is up. Got it to fire up, but it won't stay running, and there is a horrible screeching noise coming from the distributer. Gotta pull it apart again
morning update:
It's alive.... It's alive.... not running great, but it runs. Gotta pick up some vacuum line to reroute some things, but it's working non the less. Gotta ask mike if I can borrow his timing light for a few when I pick him up later to give him back the cobalt so I can get it dialed in. Carb is acting up a little bit, but my friend was trying to get his car to run with it and fucked with all the idle adjustments. Gonna have to go back through the spark plug wiring too since it has a miss at idle and part throttle. But it's almost there.

it;s driving finally, not bad, but gas mileage is terrible. still gotta dial in the carb a bit, also now the car is shifting at 4500rpm's for some reason. Gotta find a better vacuum source I guess, but it's good enough to get me back and forth to work as far as I can tell. I need to put in my adjustable universal linkage adapter too since the kick down cable is too loose and the trans won't downshift. But anyway, Mike if you read this when you get home, give me a call and Ill scoop you up and you can have your balt back. Found an issue we need to fix though when you get over here, nothing huge, but still needs to be attended too

If anyones interested, PM me and I will keep ya in the know. I start my new job Monday, so I'm not too sure how much I'll be on here, but I will check every night after work.

Scared of some good traction?? I say that now, then you see me posting up about snapped axles. Hahaha...I'm prolly gonna take her easy off the line. I just want an idea of where she is trap speed wise so I know what I should do next.
