Yeah I plan to.

I was wondering if when the car is on the dyno, and he's tuning, does he like explain what he's doing as he goes along, or does he just do it and it's done? If that makes any sense. lol...thanks

If you don't mind me asking, how much was it when you got tuned?...How long does it usually take? I kinda wanna know how much I'm looking at. lol...and is there anything in particular you'd recommend I ask him when I call him up to set this up.

thanks for the quick reply too!

hey no prob man, fred has helped me install, tune my car and did a great job and at a great price, so in return the more people i can send to him the better. i dont know how much it was exactly since its been about a year and i had parts installed at the same time. if you call him though he will probably be able to give you a good estimate. tell him Kevin referred you from CT :-) i wouldnt reccomend anything inparticular, just think of any questions you might have for future modding, or maybe what hed reccomend if you have a goal in mind or anything else you might think of.

And the two times weve tuned my car i think we did them both within an hour each time

Thank you sir, I'm gonna have #42's put in, and tuned. Then I have a 2.5" over the axle bend and muffler to go in.

Hopefully, we can get some good numbers!

go for 60s if you havnt bought the 42s yet, only help you for when you upgrade later if you do. i maxed out my 42s on a 2.9 last year and had to go to 60s to finish tuning. did you call him and talk to him yet?

I have not called him yet, with work and finishing school, I haven't had the time, but will be very soon. I got the #42's used for a wicked sweet deal I couldn't pass up. So, no 60's at least until my warranty runs out, or the Redline is no longer my daily driver. I plan on running a 3.0" pulley eventually with a heat exchanger and ported header whenever I decide to get re-tuned. That's another thing, does Fred charge for re-tuning?...

thanks for all of the help, I'm new to this stuff...

Yes fred charges to retune, but usually when your retuning its not the same price as before. Easiest way I can explain it is usually when people go to get tuned theyve altered a good amount of pieces before they actually feel the need to be tuned such as adding injectors, pulley, and intake and exhaust or full exhaust is usually what a person will have before being tuned. Once they go you have to basically make all those pieces now work as 1. Now the next time youll get tuned chances are youll only drop a pulley size as your next mod and then just want to retune that, youve already incorporated all the last mods in your last tune so now its just a slight adjustment on the fuel table. its not a "whole retune" so to speak. And as said Fred will keep your stock tune so incase something happens, a quick reflash back to stock ( say youve parted out your car and are trading it back in ) and your good to go.

Cool...last question, I promise. lol

Those of you who've been tuned, have you ever had issues when taking your car in to the dealer and they reflash the car for like a CEL or something? I still have warranty, and have had problems with my power steering and an exhaust leak and have had the car reflashed a "few" times. lol...

if your reflashed you lose your tune, theyre reflashing to dealer spec tunes. also rumors been going around gm is checking to see if you have a gm tune or not. if i have any issues i go to fred and go around the dealer. have the time they dont know what theyre talking about anyway

Well my warranty is through Saturn. I go to Saturn of Seekonk for any warranty issues. I used to go to Saturn of Raynham (where I bought it) but soon figured out they are clueless there. When I had my exhaust leak, they were all defensive asking me if I had aftermarket stuff done (which I didn't). If they were so worried about aftermarket stuff, they couldn't tell if it was in the first place?....But that sounds like a good idea to go to Fred first before the dealer.
