I was disappointed all but two were fairly stock SS models. All the SS ones had just basic bolt on mods. Most of the crazy mods were stereo or entertainment mods. Not one had a boosted 2.2 or 2.4. One had a body kit. The craziest engine mods were some tunes, stage kits, and other bolt ons. I wasn't really wowed by any of them. Not to say I would have won or that mine looked nicer cause it doesn't but still. There are cars I see on this forum that if they were there, would have been better hands down.
Its funny I won first there back in 2007 and had nothing done to my car. I think that the older people dont like all of the carbon fiber and lambo doors. They will vote for the cleanest Cobalt there.

Yeah, wasn't too impressed overall. Also, when you're taking pictures, make sure to focus, and back the **** up. We like to actually SEE the cars. And what's up with 30 pictures of slightly open trunks? We know the Cobalt trunk is small.
in order to be judged we had to have our hoods and trunks open, and our windows down. the car that got first overall for cobalts was stock exterior and bolt ons under the hood but it was clean.
but on another note you cant take pictures for ****, i understand car shows are probably the worst environment to take pictures but damn.
the owner of that s10 has a hhr ss also

congrats to the winners but their judging was bullshit. we had a long debate with the guy that runs this show as to why we didnt even place "please note we have an extensive amount of work done to our car". he told us mods to the car dont make a **** of a different to them. they go based on basically how clean the car is weather it be bone stock or all modded out. i personally think that is dumb but whatever its not soley a tuner based event like we normally go to and place in the top 2 in our class.
we did find out later that we got an excellence award in the modded class so i dunno sup with that but kool we take it.

as the class winner i will admit that i didnt have a carbon fiber hood, lambo doors, or a crazy sound system but i can say that you wouldnt find a single crumb or spec of dirt in my car or a drop of oil on the engine but knowing i was going to a car show and knowing i was gonna drop 40 bucks to even enter my car i took the time the night before to actually clean my car and only getting 3 hours of sleep before my 200 mile drive from northern va to pa...not to be an ass but some of the cars there hardly looked like they were vacumed. and 2500 in mods hardly seems stock to me.. like the previous guy said u didnt come to a import or all tuner show the cobalts were sitting behind impalas' not hondas and im proud of it!

Once again another show goes by and people are complaining that they didnt win, or saying they werent impessed with what was there. First off this is an ALL cobalt class. There isnt a big enough turnout to seperate the cars into different classes. On the other hand i was happy to see that there were double the amount of cobalts there this year than last. Its just a carshow get over it and move on with your life. Just because you put a body kit on or lambo doors or whatever doesnt make you an automatic winner. There are many guys out there that work hard to keep there car looking clean and spend a lot of hard earned time and money on their rides. Not eveyone wants a body kit and that stuff. Most of the work I saw was done was performance. I attended that show last year didnt place, and this year i placed i i only changed one thing on my car from last year to this year. You win some and you lose some. This is a hobby and is supposed to be fun. I think a lot of people forget what being a true "car guy" is all about. I agree with Wghyaes25 on this one. I took second place and i know i spent a few hours each night cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. Yea mods are great but you have to give the guys credit that bust their asses keeping there cars clean. I drive my car everyday and its hard to keep it as clean as i do. Im proud of what i have done to my car and thats that. I was really glad to see the virginia club there. I wish there were people around here that would like to make a nice group like yourselves. Congrates to all you guys that placed. I hope to see a nice group back next year.

I agree. To a point.
I've had my cars at many car shows before. The cobalt has only ever been at two, and none of them have been judged with any of my cars. however, one thing I do is pride myself in the cleanliness of my vehicles (not just for shows, but everyday), for using them as a daily. I've had several cars at shows (my old Cadillac, my Olds, etc.) that have been SPOTLESS, and gotten glances by 3 people. It doesn't matter if your car is better than showroom new. If it's not a Ferrari or something, people don't give a ****. Would I rather see Quality of parts and workmanship over Quantity of parts? All day. But not everyone thinks that way.

This is the best all GM Show on the side of the country and perhaps the country period. While I do have some gripes with the judging of the GTO's, not for my own car but for cars I feel were robbed, I am not about to cry about it and stomp my feet and not come back. I go to hang out and have a blast all weekend long and I accomplished that.
