Darksun gets Dyno'd

As you know i juust recently traded in my cobalt for a True red MS3. A month ago i got my cobalt dyno'd on this exsact dyno and put down 232whp 215 TQ. and now for my MS3

first run was right off the street after doing some practice digs.

Second run was after a 10 minute cool down with a fan on the Fetus aka stock top mount

- Darksun

HA there you go now its under my name.

Nice numbers. Tq number seems a little high from what ive seen though. You put down in tq to the wheels what my buddy did with a boost controller and tbe on his MS3. Regardless, sweet numbers.

yeah its a KO4.Actually they just recently got the maps for the k04 the MS3 runs and it should be good to 21psi

the drop of that was once though of because of the turbo seems even worse cause by 6000rpms the ECU closes the throttle plate down to 30 percent.....

lol sounds like my roommates S4(2001) we had to do a few boost cut eliminator things as well....it did the same thing to the throttle plate under high boost.

the dyno is interesting to say the least you have buckets of torque for about 2k rpm before the drop off at 4k and the hp drops soon there after as well ... whats the rev limit on those things?

edit nvm it was listed

I see your MS3 hit the power and torque numbers listed in Road and Track versus the Caliber SRT4

Ight heres run down.

The car has a boost limit on the first 2-3 gears. The power falls off so sharply because the ECU slowly closes the throttle plate after Peak power to the point that when you get to 6000 rpms its at only 30%. I raced a memeber on here Mrcheeks he's a stock cobalt running a supertune similar to the one i had on my cobalt. he dyno'd 225/200 on that same dyno. We did digs and rolls.......

DEAD EVEN

untill i shift to 5th then i start to walk away from him like it wasn't even a race. The first time it happened i was upset that we were so even then when I pulled away so quickly I had to ask him if he missed a gear? he said "No you just ran away all in a sudden" This car is weird man theres so much ECU nanny control crap on it you really can't do proper work till 5th gear which i start at like 95 miles perhour.

cobalts with big turbos FTW!!!!

the gearing isn't short it seems but the fact that you HAVE to shift by no later then 5800 rpms has you flying through the gears. The car can go up to 6700 though. Its not looking good on the dyno sheet man rom my cobalt im gonna have to take another look around. That dyno is a bad though cause everyone and there momma knows my cobalt was doing more than 232 whp he'll make put down 225 with just the tune no pulley. My car was acting up paul did what he could to tune it on the dyno but the cobalt finally had enough of my crazy tune....
