Thats what I do, I turned off the data plan. I had it thinking I could use it at work where there is no wifi, on my trips up to NY or even at my dads house but I blew through the service real fast the first month and just decided hell no. $30 for 2gb is crap and they charge you out the a$$ if you go over (luckily I didn't). So now it takes the place of my laptop if im in bed...kind of a waste of money since I can't use it like I wanted.
