Marylanders R calling You OUT!
lol
A buddy of mine owns the zx6r that I rode and he has been trying to talk me into getting one since 07 when he bought his...I effed up and bought 2 cobalts instead lmao. I have never touched a bike/dirt bike/4 wheeler in my life untill yesterday and I was only in a parking lot but managed to do ok.
They are a lot of fun and I am gonna go to a couple local dealers friday to check some out. cycle world has an 07 gsxr with like 3,000 miles on it ( i had to email them for a price...and they are closed for the weekend/holiday). There is an 07 zx6r at a dealer in ellicott city with like 5,000 miles for $6500
Tryin to decide if i wanna spend a little more and get a new one instead of an ABUSED one

I have been riding since I was 11, got my first street bike 3 years ago after A LOT of sweet talking the wife. I didn't really like the whole stunt riding thind on a street bike plus I tore my acl and couldn't rid efor 9 months so I got rid of the last bike. I had a crf-50 that was tons of fun and I could do all kinds of crazy **** on it. I didn't like the way the zx6r's seat felt. It cut into the back or my legs and was uncomfortable. I sat on a 600rr at the bike show a few years ago and that was when I decide I wanted a honda and I can't wait to get back on another one.
i always heard its better to buy a used bike than a new one if you are just starting out to ride
my cousin has like 3 street bikes and a rack of atvs and dirt bikes, he rides motorcross of a living

My buddies kawasaki is also modded with a juicebox, different sprockets, some stiff as clutch/brake levers, different grips and a badass sounding exhaust lol
so it wasn't really a stock for stock comparison between the 2

when i first got on the bike, I was dragging my feet like they were training wheels because i was scared. after 2 laps around the parking lot I got more comfortable with it and put my feet on the pegs. did several up/down shifts and all i can say is that it was a blast! the sensation of speed on a bike is sooooooo much different than a car, 32mph in a parking lot feels like 200 lol (for me atleast)
hahaha
Sooo...My buddy who let me ride his zx6r yesterday had his bike laid down today by a mutual friend (another who has never rode). My buddy told me and him up front that he didn't mind teaching us but if we f#cked up we had to fix it (luckily it wasnt me).
dude throttled a little too much and released the clutch too quick (aftermarket clutch so its hard to judge, then it catches and goes) and he didnt think to pull the clutch or hit the brakes. he was only going like 10 in 1st and ran into and over a curb, bike fell on the left side and slid 10 feet across a sidewalk and dude ended up in the grass
He got some bad roadrash on his left arm but otherwise is fine.
The bike needs the front nose fairing, left mirror, the upper and lower left side fairings, the rim is chipped/bent, the left front brake rotor hit the curb and is damaged, frame sliders need replaced, clutch lever, shifter assembly and front fork also have minor damage but are ok (mostly paint chips/scuffs)
I helped my buddy pull everything apart tonight then we searched for parts...at least $1300 before tax/shipping for everything
