man... it was a day for SS/SC's on the ride home today.....

Saw a red one out by work....

Saw a black one AND the Yellow 05 with the CF hood within 1 mile of each other!

those guys in the yellow one even acknowledged my existence,,, go figure.... I DO exist...

Just as I finished washing the car, it starts to rain after I put the hose away, figures.... Guess I can think of it as a free rinse, plus I just had to get those dried up insects off the front, so many. Better be the last rain for the night. See ya tonight.

 

did you see the red one on the way to squirrel hill tunnels, if so that was me, cuz i saw a black one in the left lane and i was in the right, i tried to pull up a little but right lane was getting too far behind

The other black one was in the far right lane ( like he was going to get off at squirrel hill ), and I WAS in the left. This would've been around ohhhh maybe 3:40 or so. Dam accident outside of Monroeville... keepin me from getting home.

Looks like we're getting more and more popular ( the cars that is... I've never been "popular" )

 

yep that wasw me then, i didnt see that other black one, but yes, it was around 340, you didnt happen to get stuck in the traffic on last friday did you? my goodness, i sat there for 2 and 1/2 hours and only went a distance of a mile, finally i decided to get off at the greentree exit, hit 79 then caught the turnpike in cranberry. i left the base a 3 and didnt get to irwin till 620 or so on a friday! crazy!

 

I'm trying to think what way I went home last Friday..... I might have just went up the red belt and hit the pike. Red belt start here on 65 and runs up towards Cranberry. I can be to the pike in 15-20 mins from here. I get ON the parkway over where the Ft Duquesne & Ft Pitt bridges meet up, so I wouldn't have hit anyting on the Prkwy West near Greentree.

With all this rain today... it should be a fun ride home. Looks like I won't be heading to the drag strip tonight... dag nabbit!

Yeah, me and a buddy of mine used to go back in the early/mid 90's and run in what was then "trophy class". He is looking to get the car back out of mothballs and start running again, so we're going to head up and see what is what there now. Since it's under new ownership, you never know. I hear they've done alot up there ( what used ot be Keystone raceway ) @ PGHraceway park.

rumors have it there they even have a bikini contest up there at an upcoming event.... maybe they need a judge.... or at least... nevermind....

It's right on 22, out past Delmont. If I remember correctly it's just past the intersection with 981 at the top of the hill.

 

Yes... that is correct. It's out in New Alexandria on 22. Sorry.. I guess I forget just becuase I know where something is... that others dont... I R STUPID sometimes.

For the longest time, it was called Keystone Raceway. It went under new ownership a few years ago, and it is now Pittsburgh Raceway Park. It is just like Alleycat said... right on the right hand side up on the hill. THere are signs out that way for it I think.

if I remember correctly NO.. they are NOT open daily.

I think they have 1 day during the week and Firday night as a "test and tune", and then Saturday or Sunday is race day.

I would definately check their site for the dates though. You never know.

 

i need to figure out how tog et up there on a wed. cuz i always work weeknights, i liked how they used to have tnt on saturdays

If you guys done mind, I might tag along if that is ok with you guys. I never been to the track and curious what I can do with the stock car.

Would they even let me though since my car is damaged? I can see how that might be a safety concern.

Wes, I'm not sure how the safety team up there would think about that damage. If nothing else, you would only be able to be a spectator.

What time are you guys thinking about going??? I might be in. All depends on work. I'm putting 10-12 hr days right now.

 

Gates open at 5:30pm. I assume they start running at 6:30. the web site is so ambiguous that that's all I can tell. It look slike $7 buck entry fee + maybe a little more once you decide to run??? Beats me. If the weather is nice I am there.

 

I would go but I'm putting my new clutch in and it has a 500 mile break in period so i wont be able to run.

 

I will go either way, I will ask if I can run. Worst thing is they say no, then I can just watch and get some good footage of you guys. Whats the website for this place George?
