New helmet means going back drag race at LVH

When I raced my car at the drags when it was new, I had problems with my old helmet hitting the interior of the car's roof (had to bend my head sideways). And even though it's not required, I WILL NOT race w/o a helmet on (doesn't make any sense).

So I just picked this up today:

It listed for $119 at the local motorcycle shop, but I knew the guy who worked there so I got it for $99!

It only sits about 1/4"-1/3" lower, but that's good enough for me to keep my head up.

So if anyone's interested, I plan on going back to Lebanon Valley Dragway. Here's their upcoming schedule:

Wed. Aug. 8
Test & Tune Plus Street Class

Sat. Aug. 11
Test & Tune Plus DDRA Diesel Drag Racing Assoc. Northeast Points Meet

Wed. Aug. 15
Test & Tune Plus Street Class

Sat. Aug. 18
Test & Tune Plus GM Day & Super Street

Wed. Aug. 22
Test & Tune Plus Street Class

Sat. Aug. 25
Test & Tune Plus Bikes In The Valley & NETO

Wed. Aug. 29
Test & Tune Plus Street Class / Last Points Race For The Bracket Finals

Sat. Sept. 1
Test & Tune Plus Super Street

If anyone's interested, let me know!

Well, a helmet's "looks" isn't gonna do me any good if I still bang my head with it on my car's roof liner.

I explained this problem to my friend at the bike shop, and that is the helmet he suggested.

And he was right!

Also, the long extended part that goes over the top of the helmet is detachable. So I detached it ...

(additionally, the helmet also has a SNELL 2005 rating, so it's the best of the best)

Besides, I think the helmet looks absolutely fantastic.

Heh CRX, just noticed something about this Sat. at the Valley.

They've got Diesel Drags mixed in with Test/Tune:

This appears to be a whole event all to itself. Usually, there ALREADY is a ton of cars there for a normal day of Test/Tune.

I'm thinking it's gonna be too busy today, so I'm probably gonna hold off until this Wed. night:

Wed. Aug. 15
Test & Tune Plus Street Class

Wed. weather also looks to be good.

But if you do go today though, Good Luck!

you missed out. it wasnt busy at all i got like 5 runs in within a couple hours. until my 6th run when my radius rod for my traction bar broke around 1/8th mile, and almost hit the wall. scared the **** out of me losing control at 80MPH.

best of the day was 12.2@114 and 12.5@117 which i couldnt figure out why i was going so slow (trap wise) until i realized the boost was down because of altitude. never did get a clean pass because i either spun too much or missed a gear. i guess i left my driver mod at home

maybe ill see you there some other time, i dont think ill make it wednesday though.

Wow.

Number of people at Sat. Test/Tune must be diminishing, as there were a ton of cars there the last time I went on a Sat.

Anyway, glad to hear you had so many runs ... sorry to hear about your parts breakage.

Stay away from the wall - YIKES!

Heh CRX ...

Did you know there's a professional photographer who takes pics of every car that makes a run on Saturdays?

You can go to his website and find your pic (listed according to date) and order professional quality prints of your car for a nominal fee.

Here's the link:
