We'll find out tomorrow. I'm leaking coolant somehow. Wa on the highway playing with a Porsche Boxster S and I started giving off white smoke through the exhaust and under the hood a little. Pull off on the highway and I have coolant under the reservoir tank and the side of the fuse box.
No shame, I'm hoping to by the end of this year. If I can afford to keep the cobalt I will though
Who's tuning you? What kit did you buy? What kind of power are you gonna be at? Do you like Mike & Ike's?

Cough TVS, cough
turbo blown is blue smoke from the oil going through the seals, not black. Black smoke is too much fuel in the mixture, IE too rich. (or a cylinder not firing) what do your plugs look like
i love mike and ikes!
by the way it sounds brian if you have coolant in the engine bay it's probably/hopefully not the head gasket, but coolant in the exhaust usually means that so i hope it's a better outcome
^ and hey i was half right with the oil being blue smoke, but i've seen blown turbo's throw some black smoke too because there's so much fuel and no air so it runs pig rich. still doesn't quite sound like a direct turbo issue to me so i hope it's not

Not sure yet for tuning. Its the Hahn stage 5 with the S256 turbo. Not sure hoping 400whp and i love mike and ikes
did you hear from the shop yet? honestly dude with the money you have into your car right now i'd just get it fixed, unless you absolutely blew up the whole motor or something major like that. even if you parted out and traded it in you wouldn't get much, and honestly i'd NEVER buy a used WRX/STi unless i knew the owner.
They're going to look at it hopefully tomorrow. I'm hoping its just the turbo because then I'll just upgrade to the 256et then try and sell the car on Craigslist or trade it in. I found a 2011 WRX with 29.3k miles for sale at the dealer where I got my car for 25k. Either trade it in on a WRX or find an lnf. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.
well see what the shop says and go from there, plus why pay $25k for a 2 year old WRX with almost 30k miles when you can go buy a new one for like $28k. trust me dude i had my mind set on trading in my cobalt last year on a new STi and just couldn't justify having a payment again and getting rid of it when it only has 37k miles on it and a lot of life left. if i'm not going to get anything for a trade in i might as well beat it to hell and run it, yea i could make a couple grand with parting out but still. as you can tell i'm not the guy who buys new every year or trades in because of a couple little issues, even new cars can get issues.
