You are probably better off finding a shop with HPTuners/LS2Edit. The local tuners learned the hard way of what happens when you hand out tunes to people. They are up your ass 24/7 and blame you as soon as the car does something they feel is bad.
I'm not trying to speak for them though, maybe they will post something.

I wouldn't use an Intense can tune. I don't know what your mods are, but they are known to be quite horrible.
Your going to be paying at least $100 for credits no matter where you go. Unless a shop has all GM's unlocked, they can charge you whatever they want. But most shops do not.

Their can tunes aren't good, at least for the smaller pulleys, 2.7 and lower. If your using a stock pulley or something as big, you will be fine.
A dyno tune from them would be fine no matter what mods ya got, but it's gonna cost ya.

lol. i'll take the exact opposite of that. what are some recommendations of where to go? i'm not sure if i'll even need my pcm tuned yet or not. i'll find out sat.
well, i'm sure you may have read my posts before on my situation. if not well here's a quick run down.
installed jbody performance cai. next day p0171 code. car is now starving of either gas or air when jumping on the gas in third and fourth around the 3500 to 4500 rpm range. i believe that the tire is rubbing the fender lining due to the cai fittment issues and maybe the pipe slipped out of the sleeve enough to disrupt the air flow. or at least i hope that this is the problem cuz it's a quick fix.

yes i know, but i'm concerned that since its cutting out that it is potentially harming the car
if it's the pipe out of the sleeve then after a few cycles the cel should disappear. or i can get it cleared once i feel that i have 'fixed' it. otherwise i was thinking of getting the pcm tune to recalibrate everything

Found the source of the problem.........LOL.
As far as local shops, just call around. I know know of any good tuning places locally that I would trust with HP Tuners off the top of my head. Mostly people do it themselves. Most of the tuners have gotten away from it locally because then people except them to be on call every time they want a tune.

Yeah, man, HPT would be the way to go IMO. I would play with the intake a little bit and see if you can maybe get it adjusted a little better in there. Make sure everything is nice and tight, etc. I have the Fujita intake, also 3" like JBP, and very very little to no problems with it. The only time I have an issue is when the weather takes a drastic change, mostly when it goes from warm to cold. I'll see a CEL for maybe a week and then it hybernates until spring, it pops on the first couple warm days and then hides until winter.
Yeah, only way to calibrate the MAF is with HPT/LS2Edit. If the tuner doesn't have your year unlocked fully, your looking at at least $100 for credits. Then whatever they want to charge you for the tune.
well hopefully with a little tweaking of the intake i can resolve this issue and move on. in other news i'll be getting my tint done, my wheels sandblasted and powdercoated, and getting the cat-back on.
one question about the tint. if i were to get them done tonight, how will the cold weather affect them? should i just wait until spring?
i'll have the stock cat-back and stock polished 18's for sale soon if anyone is interested.

U need a wideband to properly calibrate the maf but I was able to get it damned close on george's 2.4 just using the trims. Was a couple day process doing it that way tho. Dan's 2.4 is pyscho tho...it went off the deep end and doesnt listen to hpt anymore
