hey guys im new to the pittsburgh crew part of the forums, but was kinda wondering if you guys knew anyone pretty good with HPT, im going to Wyotech this fall, and im looking to broaden (spelling) my experience with cars in general, specificly tuning. thinking of purchasing HPT pro so i can do my own tuning. First a NA tune then a year or 2 down im gonna try a turbo tune, but for the time being i would appriciate any help. i live in ligonier, if anyone even knows where thats at, would love to meet up and get some knowledge on the topic

Well.... this is the gang to talk to about HPT... not sure just who is doing what these days but there are some very knowledgeable in that arena.

These guys are all between the airport and greensburg areas so we're not far out from you in Ligoneer.

BJ... aren't you ALWAYS looking for a new car???

glad you are well... I was wondering what happened to you...

Yes, but tuning for people and giving advice and feedback to someone who is trying to learn on their own is two different things.

This is the first request I've seen anybody post in a long time wanting someone more along the lines of a mentor rather than flat out asking to be tuned by someone.

Wow this thread just about died the last few days.

I just figured I would let those of you who are going to the starlite cruise tonight where I'd be. I'm planning on parking in the top lot. When you go up the hill to the top lot at the very top of the Hill make a right and I'm going to try and park in the corner straight in front of you. My name's Rich and I have a Sunburst Orange SS/SC with no badges and "Supercharged" under the rear wing. I'm planning on being there around 7:00 and staying until it's pretty much over.

I was going to bring my bike but I just got my Megan Racing cat-back on and I love the sound of it so much I have to bring my car tonight. I'll see ya there...

I'm still alive, too. Been working my ass off, getting my certification, looking for jobs, etc. Exhausting.

Haven't seen anyone in a while...I gotta make some time before heading out. Moving to Atlanta early August. Better job market, weather, and plus my gf's starting a phd program in materials science at Georgia Tech. So I figured why the hell not...

Anyway, the RL hasn't been right for two months, if not more. Pulled the aftercooler pump off, and the magnet crumpled out. I don't think it's ever been working right, esp. considering the wires were reversed. But new pump's going on today.

Should be free tonight...any plans anywhere?

LOL to Starlite or not to Starlite. I'll go if Wes wants to go, otherwise I'll probably stay home. I have the beginnings of a migraine. Sucks too cause I'm up for just driving around somewhere.

Jon I can't believe you're leaving us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm contemplating a career change myself, but either way it will involve more schooling.

It's a HUGE car show at a church up in Wexford. It's pretty cool, definitely worth going to.

I'm more than likely not going. Wes is working so I get the chance to get stuff done around the house. Or sit on my ass and play video games. We shall see how that one goes.

Hey does anyone know how Kenny Ross Chevy in Irwin is concerning warranty work? I stop by last night to look at the 08' SS/TC (which was nice BTW. Rims, Brakes, Seats, etc look to be a good improvement), and I asked the one sales guy how strict they were. His response was that they would def fix something unless it was blatantly broken by the mod. He even said "why would we turn down warranty work? GM still pays us to fix it regardless?" and said that the SS's were very popular around for modding. I was just curious if anyone had any experience with Kenny Ross considering everyone here likes to say that the dealerships are evil and will void your entire warranty for no reason...

I know I've been told by a tech that Baierl is very liberal when it comes to the warranty work...

I used to work @ Kenny Ross. I think it really depends more upon the extent of the mod and what is broken. If you should happen to run, oh say, a 2.35 pulley and your blower melts together, they may not want to cover that.....

Hahaha, thanks for the info. I def appreciate it. Luckily I haven't needed any warranty work as of yet...

On a side note, I know some people on here have gotten a free clutch replacement for there's shitting the bed... Anyone have any info on that? My clutch slips like crazy now... I don't know if they would do such a thing though, or merely laugh at me when they see my mods..?

Laugh. A stock replacement would probably just take a **** again. Might as well upgrade. Ya pay to play.

While i would agree with upgrading, when Jester had a cobalt (before the GTO), i cant quite remember the whole story, but i know he got a set of axles and a clutch replacement all under warranty when he had his S2 cobalt. Stock stuff, but hey, it was all covered under warranty for whatever reason....

That's also because Stage 2 falls under factory warranty, Intense stuff doesn't.

sounds good. im hoping to have everything on the car and possible nearing finished on the tuning. but wel see. it all depends on how much help i have. i can drop the front end and have the charge piping and ic/ bov in about an hr and a half maybe less. then i just have to run vacuum lines/maf wire and install injectors/plugs. rest is hot side. i wonder if paz will be busy
