Rockefeller center
Rockefeller center
i was wondering if anyone on here has been to the rockefeller center. i have never been to it but i am going on dec 9th with my family and my girlfriends. when do they set everything up there and how does it look from the pics i have seen it looks really nice. my girlfriend cant wait to go ice skateing infront of the tree thats what she has been talking about for the past 2 weeks now. also where is there some good places to eat around there?
It is pretty cool man I was there 3 years ago over the holidays.
I'm not sure when they set the tree up, maybe someone from NY can help with that.
And there are so many good places to eat in Manhatan just ask at the hotel.
If you are going to be there for any more then a couple of days and are planing on taveling the city I would suggest getting a metro pass.
It will get you on as many subway and bus rides you want, and you can get around the city so fast by subway. 30 minutes tops to get anywhere in Manhatan.

i cant wait to get there i like nyc alot is really fun there. we are not staying over night there we are going to go up in the morneing and go home late at night. we cant take a train up from CT or drive. we just dont know if we drive if we want to take my moms malibu maxx or my old sunfire. the sunfire would be better to get around in the city bc its smaller and better on gas but the malibu has a ton of more room. ill have to wait and see what the people from ny say about when they set things up i looked online and didnt see much about that.
yea, ive been there...the angels are alright, the ones that line the paths to the ice rink i mean, the tree is big, and the ice rink is PACKED...it should be something you do AMONG other things in NYC because lets face it: that place is a world of its own.
trees up already theyre in the process of decking it out...lighting ceremony is sometime this coming week....they shut the lights off earlier than they used to not sure what time and if u wanna ice skate aim to go during the week cuz on the weekends the lines are impossible...as far as eating goes grab a zagats guide to NYC Restauraunts and look up "Midtown" theyre usually pretty accurate as far as ratings go...hope that helps...anything else gimme a holler im in the city just about every weekend
good i can tell my girlfriend the tree is up so was worryed we would get there and it wouldint be up. ill look for the a nice place to eat when we get up there. the first place she wants to go is time square then after that all the shoping places. we are going to leave CT in the morneing and leave ny at night so we can see the tree lit up.
dude, word of advice... AVOID TALKING TO THE WEIRDOS... they can spot an out of towner a million miles away, and will no doubt hit you up for money for food or whatever... just keep walking, don't feel bad, because they don't want food they want krack... when they ask you for food, if you feel really bad, tell them you'll take them to mcdonalds to get them a burger, guarantee they'll say no thanks and walk away... but once you give it to one, they'll swarm you like seagulls on the beach as you're throwing chunks of bread...
i'm saying this because i had a roommated from south carolina, and her family came up and we took them to the city... they felt bad for every homeless person they saw, (which is lots) and if i hadn't dragged them away they would have bought drugs for half the city that day...

Agreed. I don't mean to act like "out of towners" (I'm not even from NYC, but I'm 15 minutes out so close enough) are all ignorant and will believe anything a bum on the street tells them. But trust me, the guy who asks you for spare change in a small town in Georgia to catch a bus is probably going to catch a bus. The guy who asks you for a dollar to feed his 4 kids in Manhattan is probably buying crack. NYC is certainly not a dangerous place, its much better than it was pre-Giuliani, just make sure you keep your eyes open as you would in any other population center.
k we found out how we are geting there. we are going to take 2 cars and park at a lot outside of queens then take the train into the city. my dad wants to know where little italy is in nyc?
we ended up parking in queens because my mom wanted to go to some greek store titians? i think it was called. then we parked in a lot and took the N train into the city. are first stop was china town and it was crazy people trying to sell stuff all over the place. heres a few pics i got my camara sucks at night so i didnt take any good ones really.
