you're comparing totally different times. when mario 3 came out, there was nothing else like it.

earthbound ROCKS!!! i've been trying to find that game, but it's so damn expensive now. apparently it was pretty rare

 

i never understood why, but i really liked toejam and earl lol

 

Oh yea Pirates Gold and sega was fun. And Contra,metroid,zelda

 

oh yeah and Eternal Champions for the Genesis......that game was like Mortal Kombat x2...of course the series went nowhere after that but it was fun
