I was just thinking about this today. A bunch of guys in my shop are deploying to the desert in september. I'll probably be going in late 08.

I know it would be hard for me being seperated from my girl friend. Especially since we are supposed to get married in late 08.

Sorry to hear that man.
The Navy goes everywhere!

Just not typically to the front line.
They are definately hanging out in the gulf though, and probably have been since the begining.

Either way, thank you to both of you for doing your part!

Yea I think it was about a year and a half ago the Navy started sending in people on foot. But I know where you are coming from a budy of mine joined the Marines the same time I joined the Navy and on his first deploy he was gone for 9 months then came home for 2 weeks got married (don't know if it was the smartest thing to do) and was shipped back over for another 10 months.....I know I am not on the "Land" side of things but you better believe I still pray for the people that are!

who cares if all of them hate us or not the point is we are loosing valuable americans in a war that could have been over in a day or so, we have technology aka bombs so why not use it? I think its well worth it, and dude if your wife gets hurt or anything over there, which we hope that wont happen, dont blame it on the navy, blame it on BUSH!! I wish I was president we would have no more people taking advantage of welfare, no more illegal Immigrants and no more americans dieing for 3.00/gallon gas

Um....the war was over in a few days. This is called an occupation right now. We're occuping thier country till they get a govt up and running. Ya know kinda like we did in Germany and Japan after WWII.

I don't necessarily believe it's Bush's fault. It's those damn "everyone hold hands" liberal hippies that are all up his ass. But what do I know, I'm just a Conservative.

That's really rough that your wife may get shipped out. I appreciate all the hard and dangerous work our troops do to protect the rest of us. I hope nothing but the best for you guys.

1) learn what you're talking about before you criticize.
2) stop believing what you're spoon fed by the media
3) majority of our gas/oil does NOT come from the middle east.
4) don't say "if i was president". you're NOT president. It's always easy to criticize from your computer. If you're that unhappy, do something that makes a difference instead of just whining about it. If i had a Z06 i could smoke everyone on this site. but, i don't have one. so it's stupid and ignorant to use that logic. get my point?

Hey bro, where is she going to? If she is in my area I'll show her around, introduce her to the peps, and try to keep an eye on her. If not, I'm sure she will be in the same area as someone else on this site who can keep an eye on her.

On a side note, I finally get to see my wife again after 10 months! Woo Hoo!!!

I am a Former Staff Sergeant in the US Marine Corp, and honestly...i hate when you guys talk about the war....

Your "Pull them all out" or the "**** Bush" comments are idiotic and underthought....

No offense to any of you...I think your all good guys and ****, but still...

heh..I just realized my "Pull them all out" and the "**** Bush"....it goes together.

If you dont see it...you need to get out more.

FYI, Bush is a good president, however he is thinking of himself right now.

The gas prices are up mainly because of Pres Bush's family. His family is an oil tycoon, and they own the majority of the oil in the US.

What does he care if the prices go up? He's making money.

Other than that, I believe he is a good president.

Guys please dont turn this into a political debate thread. This thread is about his wife leaving leave it at that and take the political debates somewhere else.

Eh, the oil thing. Always it is what people argue with. About 60~65% of the oil the US uses is produced within the US (including territorial waters), with another 30~35% or so coming from the rest of the Americas. That little chunk that is left is what comes from the rest of the world.

Gas prices are a direct result of supply and demand, with the US being one of the cheapest non-3rd world places to buy gas (yea I said cheapest!). Despite all the calls for more refinery space, this won't reduce cost in the foreseeable future. Why? Guess how the shiny new refinery is paid for? Thats right, gas prices!

Now back on topic, fsickness, when your wife finds out the area post it up (*NOT* the fob) and we'll see if there is anyone in the area.

What do you mean by FOB?
