OR restrictions

ok i currently live in wisconsin and hate the slow pace. iv had my 06 SS/SC since may and bought it in alabama, so its painful to drive it in this **** weather. i have a buddy that spent some time in portland years ago and we are planning to move out there. my question is does OR have any of the same **** that cali does with automobiles (ie: 91 octane and strict emisions). regardless im very excited about it and hope to be out there in the first week of 09'!

Top speed limit in OR = 65mph (And that's rural freeway, it's 55mph in more populus areas)

Where to start.
Restrictions -
The Metro Portland area you must pass the DMV emission test. U will get a 2 year tag when you do (very low cost, 84.00 If I recall)

STUDY for your drivers license test! One of the most tough in the nation. Make sure you have ALL documentation to prove you are a US citizen.

Front plate required.

Yes the posted limit is 65 on the interstate - however, we passed a law years back for 70, but the signs have not been changed - long story (I hate government)

We have passed the Cali emission stuff for new cars - so has WA.

91 and 92 can be found. 93 - nadda

Make sure you watch the mountain passes on your trip out! Chains are sometimes REQUIRED when things get nasty. (and as we all know - SS does not have room for chains) No salt is allowed to clear the roads in this state.

I was born and raised in the midwest - will NEVER move back. Love it here. PM if you need anything.

Oregon is alot nicer than washington...you CANNOT pump your own gas. PERIOD! The people in northern oregon are nicer than southern [might as well learn spanish]...I know in Portland they are pretty strict but im not sure about the other big cities.

well thanks guys. yea my buddy said going through the mountains would be suicide with my car and i want to keep the miles down anyways so i will be taking the train(around $150 i think, not bad) and have my car shipped. and now my clutch is toast and have no money till after the holidays anyways.

well that sucks no 93 octane, but i hate it here, i spent last winter in phoenix and came back here in june when it got to hot and now im sick of this cold and snow. as far as the front plate goes iv had my ss/sc since may with no front plate and have gotten only 1 warning. so ill probably take my chances with that.(actually id rather pay a few tickets a year than put one on lol). but yea thanks for the help guys im going to stick around here for the holidays because my family is here but should be out there in january!

Check out excedy single plate clutch. Same clutch used in the Soltice drift car. Good for 450ft/lbs of torque. Think you could get one for about the same if not lower price.
Kinda sunny and near 50 here. No snow on the valley floors!
