there was something that bugged me about the ss's at the last meet.

i understood that yes, we had a **** ton of cars. but there is no cobalt pride if they are always trying to stay at least a mile ahead of the pack. a meet is not a gumball rally...

with that said, a set up suspension on an ls would probably allow it to keep up better through twisty turns that ss owners think. it's mainly in long turns and straighter sections that a lsj/lnf would really be pulling away.

Warren I have no problem keeping up with SS balts through turns, especially before I was boosted! I had sway bars and springs, because I was able to basically hold WOT through turns where SS balts couldn't I had the upper hand for sure. if you spin you definately don't win in corners! UNDERSTEER SUCKS *****

it's ok guys I know what that's like! I have spent lots of time and hard earned money getting to where I am now and I wouldn't want it any other way. I have much more appreciation, I'm sure Tom agrees with me.

 

so i dont know if you guys have a location picked out or anything for a spring thing but, i live on spirt lake hwy, its about 47 miles each way up and down going up to mt. st.helens, I'm pretty sure its a fun driving road and hardly any cops!

yea i would love to do alot more upgrades for HP but iam not really good at the whole install part haha and cant bring my self to pay a shop to do it, but who knows

you should do some performance mods before the ss body kit other wise you will get flammed by lots of people, probably local members like brian. I can see it now he probably will call your car a cobalt transexual lol.

bring it to me, most work will be free or really stinking cheap depending on what it is I might charge like 40.00 for helping do a full engine or trans swap. I am out of work and would take donations of canned goods or non persihable items for trade of auto work. ok well jk about the last part but if you guys have any parts you want help installing then let me know I am always free and eager to help and teach.

we are all here to work on our cars no matter trim level, and you should have realized by now that the ls balts are the ones that really want to get together actually work on cars, etc...there are very few ss balts around doing much....

I know it seems like he's being a douche bag but he's just being brian. If you have heard it a thousand times before do something about it or don't tom. I think the spoiler is gay regardless no matter what car its on. Just like the STI spoiler they are both there to let you know that you paid more. Either way it's not functional, hinders visability, wobbles when shutting the trunk, looks cheap, is cheap, etc. Not my style or most SS owners and I can see why they want a spoiler free trunk I have for years... I make fun of SS owners and their cars more than I get made fun of either way you just have to find a way to punk him at his own game tom. He's a ground pounder can't be that hard lol

#1 LS's don't look THAT bad with the SS spoiler
#2 I don't have the SS spoiler, but I don't see anything so wrong with it.
#3 If people are gonna flame a person for going with looks over engine performance, get over it. Not everyone needs to take the same route as you. I prefer a mix of the two as a vehicle is worked on.

#4 If you have an ss/sc or tc please STFU with the LS hatred. It's ******* obvious ya'll are quicker, start telling people what they don't know.

#5 SC/TC owners, perhaps next time you should buy a base model and truly build your machine, rather than letting GM do most of the work for you.

Most of ya'll know me. I'm an LS guy, anyone that's met me knows I could care less who's really got the faster car. For me it's more fun to get car enthusiasts together from all economic levels, people who all did their own thing to make "THEIR" cobalt into what they wanted.

With the money I've spent, I could have had the car turbo'd by now. And you faster folks can dog me all day.

But your SS/SC or TC, technology-wise, can't compete with my car, which is more along the lines of a Mercedes S-class----even without power windows/locks.

We all have our thing we do, just because I take one route doesn't mean I should dog others that didn't spend as much money or focus on the same things as me.
