TWM Shifter Prblem
So I'm on my up to auburn, wa right now (stoppd to get food). I put my car in neutral and it sems WAY closer to the dash than normal. So much so that when I put her in 1st 3rd and 5th, she hits the lil silver plastic thing that goes around the edge by the boot. It seems to me 4th is where neutral should be. . .
Any input at all will help. It could just be me.

I popped out the cup holder and a few other plastic pieces in the middle. First time I've evr done that in this car lol. From what I could tell the right of the two links looked a lil long (don't know what's its suposed to look like). I have no tools with me so I hope nothing goes terrbly wrong from here (olympia) to auburn.

I see he plastic clip that requires man fingers on the left side. But the one on the right looks like ametal bracket with 2 reverse six sided screws in it. Beneath it looks like metal shavings.

WOW r u kidding me? twm's "upgraded" linkage clamps or watever BROKE!? glad i never spend 120 dollars on those or however much over pay bullshit they want. sorry to hear this man. if i were you id go to a nearbye autozone or some sort parts place and see if u can either borrow some tools or have them send somebody with u see if they can fix it. if u said that there are metal shavings i bet you pretty much fucked it up and ruined it by driving with it loose. but it shouldnt have come loose on its own... but the metal shavings are probobly the threads ground down. might still grab, id give it a shot.

Olympia isn't terribly far from Tacoma... Maybe some one of the guys in Tacoma might be willing to come out tomorrow with some tools and help you get it fixed. I'd be willing to bet there is someone in the area with a TWM as well so they would know how it all goes together.
C'mon guys, Cobalt buddies to the rescue!
Oh and make sure to take pics of it before you do anything else to it, so that you can send them in to TWM and maybe get some free ****!

Fixed it
So I got desperate and looked in my trunk to see if I had magically left my tools there, and I had!
I undid the bracket (i thought it broke, it just came unthreaded cause of how loose it was). I have no clue why it was loose in the first place. The car had the shifter when I bought it so it might have been an install error. Or since i'm new at driving manuals all-in-all...yeah.
ANWAYS I hooked everything up back the way it was supposed to go...I got lucky in the fact that the car was still in 1st (never took pics cause my phone battery was hella low and my cig-lighters were unplugged so i could fit my fat hand down there). I'll probably rip the plastic stuff off again today to see how its holding and take some pics of what happened.

Glad everything is good now! As a you mentioned, it seems to be an installation error as the screws "should have been" secured with locktite (supplied with the kit and outlined in the installation manual) and it's impossible for the bolts to back out once the locktite is on there!
Be sure to use the locktite that's supplied guys and girls!
I'm glad to hear that you were able to get yourself out of the sticky situation! Apply some locktite to those bolts, torque them down, and you won't have to worry about your cables popping ever again! Here's the install manual (link is at the bottom of the page) if your looking for a bit of help:
