New OTTP Hardcore Bars!
New OTTP Hardcore Bars!
We have now been shipping our new sway bars for over a month but alot of people weren't even aware we had changed a few things around. The big thing we did was bring production in house, I personally bend them on our new Bailegh RDB-250 bender, then punch holes in them on the bridgeport and finally tig weld them fully. The only operation not done here is the powder coating.
Changes to the product include:
Instead of using .095" wall 1.25" OD tube like our old bars we now use .120" wall 4130 1.25" OD, this will make our new bar slightly stiffer. We use PRO MOLY brand tube that is made in the USA which is the same tubing our old bars were made from.
The ends of the sway bar are capped with 4130 plugs and welded shut instead of using plastic plugs.
We also changed the hardware around a little, the nut plates are now cnc machined instead of watercut for a nicer finish.
Now included are stainless washers for under the bolt head and .125" delrin washers for between the sway bar and twisting beam, this does 2 things. It eliminates rust from metal on metal contact with the sway bar and the twisting beam and it eliminates the sway bars hitting the twisting beam in the bend. Unfortunately these washers won't work for people with the old style bar.
Finally the best improvement is the price $199.99, we currently have red and black bars in stock. If you want a custom color we do have bare bars here that we can get coated, the approximate wait time is 5-9 days.

WOW! Am I invisible to OTTP? Every question I've ever asked them has never got answered. I've asked a couple of questions in previous threads by OTTP and I have even e mailed questions to the OTTP website a couple years ago and got no response. Definitely the reason why I have yet to order anything from OTTP. Did I offend you in a different thread or something?

ok so it's like this
got my ottp rear sway bar, nice red in color. the thing is huge (31.75mm, right?) it made my progress one I took off look puny. it mounted nicely, just clearing the rear beam and hugging it straight across. after the install I immediately took my car for a drive (it was wet out but who cares), to some of my favorite backroads around town. I noticed the difference site seen and it stiffened up body roll to the point for which I was looking. HGNRDS (huggin' roads/hug nerds) it what I would consider it. this in combination with my new FE5 suspension and lowering springs now I have a great handling RL better than it's ever handled before.
