Axle
no i was sitting in my garage and it snapped. of course i was racing. it was gonna happen sooner or later cutting 1.9-2.0's on stock mounts with almost 50,000 miles and over 30 passes on DR's. (not to mention the other 100+ on stock tires)
also, for those who know- are the left and right stock axles exactly the same? i broke a driver side one, so if i come across a spare passenger one, would it work?
does anyone know if our halfshafts are EXACTLY the same as the IRL's or any cars sharing the tranny, such as a SAAB? also, what model saab's use this tranny

Unless you got one side spinning and it caught sudden traction. Then the open diff would be reason why it broke. It is possible to spin both with an open diff if both wheels have the same amount of traction. But if condition go bad things break.
trust me there was nothing spinning except the axle haha
I wasn't hoppin when I broke mine either, it was in 2nd gear at ~3-4k
When you have the right traction mods done you can def. throw down enough torque to shear the stockers in two

Shhhh, don't tell my car that. It doens't know that the axles should be in danger right now. According to Zinner, I should be around 290 to the wheels, and the car still hooks in second. Makes me wonder how the car still holds it.
Mm.. I had to take out my drive shaft shop stage 2 axles when i took the ss in for abs warranty. I only got to 2 track nights (3 others i went to were rained out), and have only had the car on the road since january. They are sitting on the shelf in the garage, next to my 66 mustang 302 that I've been working/driving lots.
They cost $800US new.

I think so. It caused a guy in an Altima 3.5 with a 100 shot, tuned, to get 'Yanked' by two cars from 40-60mph, and steadily pulled from there up. I have a Jedi Cobalt!
