the title yesterday wasnt base model stereo system. the forums must have glitched. i clicked it a buncha times to make sure i wasnt crazy. the title said something about lowering springs

hmm my car is a base 07 pontiac g5
i think you have to get it programmed to your car at the dealer regardless.
the radio reads the vin so you have to program it to read the new vin
i believe its a anti theft feature

Its true that the radio has to be programmed, but, if the RPO codes dont match, the programming wont unlock the full features of the radio. In fact, if they dont match, I would only be able to use the CD player, as the radio portion wouldnt work.
