wastegate is different and so is the bpv.
there are many versions of the k04 turbo.
this one just isn't the one in ss/tc's.

theres a pic of my turbo.

heres another pic of another ss engine with the k04 turbo.

not trying to bash the op, just want him to know its not an lnf turbo.

bpv is definitely different but that turbo flange is specific to the LNF

while i know that is the case..
like i said originally.
its not an lnf turbo.
they make other k04s that don't even put out the cfms lnfs' do so its unfair to call a non lnf k04 turbo, an lnf turbo.

look at the pics, and compare.
they are not the same turbo.
it has the same flange, but is not the same turbo that comes in an ss/tc.

LIKE I SAID IM NOT BASHING THE SELLER.
just putting it out there that this may work for an lnf, but it is not the same turbo from our car.

but that is an LNF flange. borg warner only makes that flange for the LNF. companies change parts suppliers for different reasons. bpv and wastegate actuator can be changed. i still think they are the same minus the bpv. and btw the LNF turbo is technically a high output k03

is it possible it's an lnf turbo from a solstice or sky?

there are definitely some differences between the 2 turbos.. almost like the one is maybe not a genuine garret.. it's clearly for the LNF manifold though

The solstice I'm pretty sure uses the 2.4. And I'm not sure how you can say its not an lnf turbo. I was told that flange is specific for the lnf lol.

maybe someone just welded that flange on that turbo? idk, but i know the ms6 and ms3 both use a ko4 as well. And fyi, the solstice gxp, and saturn sky redline have an lnf engine as well.

why do you think it was a 2.4L turbo? the valve covers for the 2.4 and lnf are nearly identical

Yeah, the base models have the 2.4L, while the GXP/Redline models have the 2.0L-T LNF

Yeah, it's not uncommon to see turbo kits on those, namely Hahn ones.

if you look at the middle were you hook up the oil lines, they do look slightly different. Also the lnf picture has a coolant line hookup and tbe sellers doesn't. Those are the only two differences visible to me.

thats cast in. its not welded. once again that flange is specific to LNF motors ONLY. this looks exactly like an LNF turbo besides the bpv(which can change manufacturers)

also don't remember who said "genuine garrett" but this turbo is not made by garrett. it is made by borg warner

OP, get a part number from the turbo. Obviously these guys don't believe companies change around their manufacturers of parts.

not bashing anyone, I was just suggesting it could still be a ko4 just maybe from a diff car. If that flange is casted, then sounds like it's def off an lnf, just maybe not a cobalt. GL with the sell buddy!

w00ps that was a brain fart but i mean maybe it's not a genuine one.. it looks similar but there are differences

i'm not saying it's not an LNF turbo though
