Tempting. I broke an exhaust stud and would rather just replace the head since its impossible to replace with the head on. Too bad christmas is coming and money is going towards that.

 

Is that detonation i see in cyl #4?

 

good question? ill take a closer look at it. i bought it from a guy on here who doesnt come on anymore, it was wrapped in plastic and i stuck it on the shelf. i have another head that has no cams too. i was going to use it to put the ZZP stuff in it, but decided i'd rather build a whole motor than just the top end. i have 172K on my 2.4

 

I think you may be right. i called the guy i bought the stuff from to see what may have been going on, waiting to hear back. the combustion chamber in Cyl does look to be slightly pitted. i will probably have to scrap it i do have anotehr head without cams i can take pics of if you are interested.
