Engine block heater. Winter is coming!!
For sale I have a GM block heater and cord. These items are sold separately at dealers for a total of around $140 ish.
SOLD
Asking $60 shipped to the lower 48
All mounting hardware is included and it works. I just "bench tested" it tonight by putting it in the freezer while plugged in. Extremely easy to install!! Just bolts to the outside of the block.
*NOTE*** This cord has a built in thermostat and will not operate the heater unless the outside temp is 0 ˚. GM designed it this way so the car won't throw CEL codes with cold starts.
As for fitment I only know for a fact that it fits a 2.2 engine. I'm guessing it fits all models of cobalts but I can't confirm that right now. If needed I can supply installed pics to help. It bolts on just below and to the passenger side of the exhaust manifold. Can be installed from above or below with ease.

I will take PM's in the order i receive them.
Feel free to ask any questions.
***Update***
Now have pics of the one installed on my car as requested.
In this pic, it is from under the car looking up at the heater. It is only partially visible. The heater and wire harness circled in green. The red circle is the single bolt that holds it on up against the engine block. Red arrows are referencing the exhaust manifold and pipe.

This pic is the top view of what you can see of the heater. Between the firewall and engine circled in green is part of the heater and wire harness. one yellow arrow referencing exhaust pipe and the other one the valve cover.

Final pic shows routing of the wire harness. It has all hardware needed to mount it. Green is showing the harness. It then routes out next to the passenger headlight on the grille. Yellow circle closest to firewall is a tab that uses the air box bolt to mount it. next yellow circle shows a clip that connects to the fender lip. The two yellow circles out on the grille are holes that are for two push in retainers to hold the harness in place. I do not use those on my car. I tuck the harness down behind the headlight to keep things looking nice and just pull it out when needed.

It keeps the coolant warmer for quicker heat inside the car and reduces wear on cold engine start ups. The engine turns over easier. Like riceburner said.
This is not something that a car needs. Its just an accessory to help warm things up faster such as heated seats for example. Block heaters are a very common item in the northern states......

Standard equipment in most parts of Canada, used mine lots last winter and it can give the coolant reading on the DIC a good 10-15C boost when it is plugged in and the oil in the pan is a lot warmer which the journals love.
Edit-it says right on it the watts consumed, can't remember exactly but I think it is 300W which does the trick.

Dafuq? I live in Canada and I don't even have one of those. Bought my car in Canada, I do believe they are supposed to be factory equipment for Canadian cars.....
Oh well, I'm not too surprised, my car doesn't even come with a paint code on the options sticker in the trunk, Called GM with my VIN#, They gave me a code for a blue car, though confirming my year, make, model and colour to me.
Sorry to thread jack. Bump!!

Keep in mind. GM sells the cord and heater separately, the cord is the expensive part.
I just looked up that part number on some GM parts giant website with my VIN number and it says it doesn't fit my car even though I know for a fact it does.
edit* here is one listed on ebay for just the heater, no cord included.
