Up for sale is a used Quaife Lsd out of a cobalt ss/sc. The trans broke 3rd gear so I had a tranny guy at the local dealership pull this out. It is in perfect shape and works like new. I have it soaking in a tub af trans fluid. Looking to get $350+ shipping. OBO Pm me for pics or q's.

How hard are they to put in?

 

It'll take ALL day, I've never installed one on our cars but I put one on an SRT-4 and it was not fun took my brother(his car) and I an entire saturday to do. Didn't really need any specialty tools just patients. All in all I'd say it was well worth the days work for the improved traction during launch especially w/ our low end tq from the S/C.

I have access to an LSD unit but can't find anyone to do the install.... I go to CED for all my service and they can't even do it.... the special tools for the install are NOT available,
called a few trans shops and they said they could not do it.... called SAAB as it is the same tranny and the SAAB guy said they never have split the tranny on one of these, they just replace the whole trans

If you can find someone to do the install, please let me know

 

I know the tranny guy at the dealership. He told me he would rip my trans apart, completely go through it and rebuild it for $300. He said it was kinda pain in the ass.

I was going to take the trans out prior to him doing the work. I'm not going, but if you know oneColdBiz or Zspeed (my brother) from team rev, if they go, they can do the exchange, but first come first serve. There is some surface rust forming, even though the thing is soaking. New price $350 shipped

My brother knows the guy. He would do it for anyone, but the price might vary. On top of what he told me for price he said to bring an extra hundred in case i need new bearings and whatever. the other guy that wanted it cant get it cause he is deployed so it probly wont go anywhere. The trans guy works at the chevy dealer on Hwy 100. He would do it at the dealership. Like I said before, I was gonna take the trans out then give it to him and put the trans back in myself. Letme know man, where do you live? Maybe I can meat you somewhere???
